Le 9 novembre 2016, la poste française a mis en vente anticipée un nouveau timbre (0,70€, tirage : 1000020) consacré au 100ème anniversaire de l'Office national des anciens combattants et victimes de guerre (ONACVG).
Le premier Office a été crée en 1916, au cœur de la 1ère guerre mondiale, afin de rendre hommage, de reconnaître l'engagement, le sacrifice, la souffrance de ces milliers de soldats qui combattaient pour la liberté de la France.
A la fin de la 2ème guerre mondiale, en 1946, l'Office prend son appellation actuelle et est aujourd'hui un établissement public sous tutelle du ministère de la défense et du secrétariat d'état aux anciens combattants.
On November 9, 2016, the French Post put on preview sale a new stamp (€ 0.70, print run : 1,000,020) dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Office for Veterans and Victims of War (ONACVG in French).
The first Office was created in 1916, at the heart of the First World War, in order to pay tribute to the commitment, sacrifice and suffering of the thousands of soldiers fighting for the freedom of France.
At the end of the Second World War, in 1946, the Office took its current name and is today a public institution under the auspices of the French Ministry of Defence and attached to the Secretary of State for Veterans.
Les missions de l'ONACVG, en plus de ses missions fondatrices de reconnaissance et de réparation, sont, à travers se devise "Mémoire et Solidarité", la préservation des droits matériels et moraux du monde combattant, la transmission de ses valeurs mais aussi de la mémoire des anciens combattants ainsi que la mise en valeur et l'entretien des nécropoles nationales ou des hauts-lieux de mémoire à travers la France.
C'est ce timbre, conçu par Nicolas Vial (né en 1955), illustrateur et peintre officiel de la Marine (qui a créé une dizaine de timbres depuis 2003), qui figure sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessus, avec TAD de Paris. Merci beaucoup Joël !
Ce TAD, conçu par Bruno Ghiringhelli, représente l'emblème de l'ONACVG, constitué du Bleuet de France, symbole national de Mémoire et de Solidarité, et de la silhouette du dôme de l'hôtel des Invalides à Paris (destiné lors de sa construction à accueillir les invalides des guerres de Louis XIV).
On retrouve ces 2 éléments sur ce timbre que j'aime beaucoup, avec cet enfant qui donne la main et symbolise la transmission de la mémoire du combattant.
The missions of ONACVG, in addition to its founding missions of recognition and reparation, are, through its motto "Memory and Solidarity", the preservation of the material and moral rights of the fighting world, the transmission of its values but also of the memory of veterans as well as the development and maintenance of national necropolises or high places of memory throughout France.
It is that stamp, designed by Nicolas Vial (born in 1955), illustrator and official painter of the French Navy (who created a dozen stamps since 2003), which appears on the First Day cover above, with cancellation from Paris. Thank you very much Joël !
This postmark, designed by Bruno Ghiringhelli, depicts the current emblem of ONACVG, made up of the "Bleuet de France", a national symbol of Memory and Solidarity, and the silhouette of the dome of the Hotel des Invalides in Paris (built by king Louis XIV to be a home and hospital for aged and unwell soldiers).
We find these two elements on that stamp that I really love, with this child giving the hand and symbolizing the transmission of the memory of veterans.
