Comme déjà évoqué sur ce blog, quelques administrations postales ont mis en circulation des timbres cette année consacrés à la canonisation de Mère Teresa : Vatican, Croatie, Albanie ou Kosovo.
La poste indienne a également commémoré cet évènement en émettant, le 4 septembre 2016, un bloc-feuillet spécial (conception : Alka Sharma, tirage : 400000) composé d'un timbre à 50 Rp.
Ce bloc-feuillet figure sur la lettre ci-dessous avec le TAD Premier Jour de Calcutta (Kolkata) où Mère Teresa a fondé en 1950 la congrégation religieuse catholique des sœurs missionnaires de la Charité, afin de venir en aide aux plus pauvres et malades. Merci beaucoup Alka !
As already mentioned on this blog, some postal administrations have issued stamps this year dedicated to the canonization of Mother Teresa : Vatican, Croatia, Albania or Kosovo.
The Indian Post also commemorated this event by issuing, on September 4, 2016, a special souvenir sheet (design : Alka Sharma, print run : 400,000) consisting of a 50 Rp stamp.
This souvenir sheet was used on the letter below with the First Day cancellation from Kolkata where Mother Teresa founded the Catholic religious congregation of the missionary sisters of Charity in 1950 in order to help the poorest and the sick. Thank you very much Alka !
Mère Teresa est représentée sur ce timbre, ainsi que dans la marge à gauche, dans le célèbre sari blanc à liséré bleu de sa congrégation. Le fond de ce bloc-feuillet montrant une foule réunie sur la place Saint-Pierre au Vatican lors d'une cérémonie religieuse en présence du pape François.
Il ne s'agit pas de la cérémonie de canonisation de Mère Teresa puisqu'elle a eu lieu le 4 septembre 2016, jour d'émission de ce bloc-feuillet...
Mère Teresa, Prix Nobel de la Paix en 1979 et béatifiée par le pape Jean-Paul II en 2003, a déjà été timbrifiée à plusieurs reprises en Inde (1980, 1997, 2009...).
Mother Teresa is featured on that stamp, as well as in the margin to the left, wearing the famous white sari with blue border, the uniform of her congregation.
The souvenir sheet's background shows a crowd gathered in St. Peter's Square in Vatican City during a religious ceremony in the presence of Pope Francis.
This is not the canonization ceremony of Mother Teresa since it took place on September 4, 2016, the day of issue of this souvenir sheet...
Mother Teresa, Nobel Peace Prize winner in 1979 and beatified by Pope John Paul II in 2003, was already in the spotlight on several stamps issued in the past in India (1980, 1997, 2009...).
