Germany-Brazil joint stamp issue : 500 Years of Lutheran Reformation

Émission commune Allemagne-Brésil : 500 ans de la Réforme

Le 31 octobre 2017 marquera le 500ème anniversaire de la publication des 95 thèses que Martin Luther (1483-1546), selon la tradition, a affiché à la porte de l'église de la Toussaint de Wittenberg, déclenchant alors le début de la Réforme protestante en Allemagne.
En attendant ce jour, les administrations postales d'Allemagne et du Brésil ont mis en circulation, le 13 avril 2017, un timbre commun consacré à ce 500ème anniversaire de la Réforme.
Conçu par Antonia Graschberger, ce timbre est inspiré du célèbre portrait de Martin Luther (1529) par Lucas Cranach l'Ancien, le logo officiel de ce jubilé.
La Deutsche Post a imprimé ce timbre en feuillet de 10 timbres avec mention (en allemand) de cette émission commune avec le Brésil dans la marge supérieure et inférieure.
October 31, 2017 will mark the 500th anniversary of the publication of the 95 theses that, according to the tradition, Martin Luther (1483-1546) posted on the door of the All Saints' Church in Wittenberg, triggering then the beginning of the Protestant Reformation in Germany.
Until then, the postal administrations of Germany and Brazil put into circulation, on April 13, 2017, a joint stamp dedicated to this 500th anniversary of the Reformation.
Designed by Antonia Graschberger, that stamp is inspired by the famous portrait of Martin Luther (1529) by Lucas Cranach the Elder, the official logo of this jubilee.
The Deutsche Post has printed that stamp in a sheet of 10 stamps with the mention (in German) of this joint issue with Brazil in the upper and lower margin.

Deux de ces timbres (0,70€), constituant la partie supérieure de ce feuillet), ont été utilisés pour affranchir la jolie lettre ci-dessus, envoyée le 1er jour d'émission depuis la ville de Bielefeld (Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie). Merci beaucoup Jens !
Ce timbre mentionne également (partie gauche), la 1ère phrase du prologue de l'Évangile selon Jean, "Am Anfang war das Wort" ("Au commencement était la Parole").
En Allemagne, l'Église évangélique (EKD) célèbre en particulier ce 500ème anniversaire de la Réforme en rappelant qu'elle a largement influencé les domaines de la politique, la musique, l'art, l'économie, le social, la langue ou la loi.
Two of these stamps (€ 0.70), which constitute the upper part of this sheet, were used to frank the cover above, sent on the first day of issue from the town of Bielefeld (North Rhine-Westphalia). Thank you very much Jens!
That stamp also mentions the first sentence of the prologue of the Gospel according to John, "Am Anfang war das Wort" ("In the beginning was the Word").
In Germany, the Evangelical Church (EKD) celebrates in particular this 500th anniversary of the Reformation, recalling that it has influenced varied fields such as politics, music, art, economy, social or law.

Le protestantisme est aujourd'hui la seconde religion du Brésil, représentée principalement par les Églises Évangéliques, avec plus de 50 millions de fidèles.
Les premiers protestants arrivent au Brésil en 1811 avec la famille royale portugaise mais cette religion va émerger lors de l'immigration d'allemands à partir de 1824 (église Luthérienne).
Lars a également utilisé ci-dessus des timbres de la série courante "fleurs", crocus (0,05€, émis le 11 août 2005) et phlox (0,05€, émis le 13 avril 2017).
Pour rappel, de nombreuses autres administrations postales consacrent également à la Réforme des timbres en 2017 : Autriche, Vatican, Pologne, Slovénie, Estonie, Namibie, Slovaquie, Hongrie, Lituanie...

Protestantism is today the second religion of Brazil, represented mainly by the Evangelical Churches, with more than 50 million worshippers.
The first Protestants arrived in Brazil in 1811 with the Portuguese royal family but this religion really emerged after the immigration of Germans from 1824 (Lutheran Church).
Lars also used above some stamps of the definitive series "flowers", crocus (€ 0.05, issued on August 11, 2005) and phlox (€ 0.05, issued on April 13, 2017).
