"Abasto Market" joint souvenir sheet with Argentina on cover from Slovenia

Bloc-feuillet commun avec l'Argentine "Marché Abasto" sur lettre de Slovénie

Le 12 décembre 2019, la poste slovène a mis en circulation un bloc-feuillet commun avec la poste d'Argentine, consacré à l'architecte Viktor Sulčič (1895-1973) et en particulier à l'édifice du marché Abasto à Buenos Aires en Argentine, conçu dans les années 1930 au sein de la "architecture firm Delpini, Sulčič & Bes".
Après avoir terminé ses études de sculpture et d'architecture à Florence et Bologne, Viktor Sulčič émigre en Argentine en 1924 où il a d'abord travaillé comme dessinateur avant de fonder une entreprise avec deux architectes argentins, José Luis Delpini et Raúl Bes.
Sulčič est considéré comme l'un des pionniers de l'utilisation du béton armé dans la construction et, parallèlement à son travail d'architecte, a été un membre très actif de l'organisation Sokol.
Il a été également co-fondateur de Novi list, un journal pour la communauté slovène d'Argentine, ainsi que peintre, écrivain et poète.
On December 12, 2019, the Slovenian Post put into circulation a joint souvenir sheet with the Argentine Post, dedicated to the architect Viktor Sulčič (1895-1973) and in particular to the Abasto Market building in Buenos Aires, Argentina, designed in the 1930s within the "architecture firm Delpini, Sulčič & Bes".
After finishing his studies in sculpture and architecture in Florence and Bologna, Viktor Sulčič emigrated to Argentina in 1924 where he first worked as a draughtsman before founding a company with two Argentinian architects, José Luis Delpini and Raúl Bes.
Sulčič is considered one of the pioneers of the use of reinforced concrete in construction and, alongside his work as an architect, was a very active member of the Sokol organization.
He was also co-founder of Novi list, a newspaper for the Slovenian community in Argentina, as well as painter, writer and poet.


Ce bloc-feuillet (2,01€, tirage : 30000), conçu par Mariana Scotto à partir de photographies d'Oskar Molek et imprimé par Bpost (Belgique), figure sur cette jolie lettre envoyée le 13 décembre 2019 depuis la ville de Kranj. Merci beaucoup Petra !
Les 3 architectes Delpini, Sulčič et Bes ont construit ce marché Abasto (vente de produits frais) entre 1931 et 1934, dans le centre de Buenos Aires.
A partir de 1984, un nouveau marché a été construit en dehors de la ville et cet édifice a été réhabilité et transformé en centre commercial en 1999.
Viktor Sulčič a également conçu le célèbre stade "La Bombonera" du club de football de Boca Juniors, achevé en 1940.
Les drapeaux de la Slovénie et de l'Argentine sont présents sur ce bloc-feuillet, dans la marge en bas à gauche, ainsi qu'un plan de ce marché Abasto dans le fond et un dessin montrant Sulčič (datant de 1922), par le peintre et artiste slovène Veno Pilon (1896-1970).
This souvenir sheet (€ 2.01, print run: 30,000), designed by Mariana Scotto from photographs by Oskar Molek and printed by Bpost in Belgium, is present on this pretty letter sent on December 13, 2019 from the city of Kranj. Thank you very much Petra!
The 3 architects Delpini, Sulčič and Bes built this Abasto Market (mainly fruits and vegetables) between 1931 and 1934, in the center of Buenos Aires.
From 1984, a new market was built outside the city and this building was rehabilitated and transformed into a shopping center in 1999.
Viktor Sulčič also designed the famous "La Bombonera" stadium for the Boca Juniors football club, completed in 1940.
The flags of Slovenia and Argentina are present on this souvenir sheet, in the lower left margin, as well as a plan of this Abasto Market in the background and a drawing showing Sulčič (dating from 1922), by the Slovenian painter and artist Veno Pilon (1896-1970).
