Bloc-feuillet EUROPA 2020 (Anciennes routes postales) sur lettre du Kazakhstan

Pandémie de Covid-19 oblige, la poste du Kazakhstan a dû suspendre de nombreuses émissions de timbres en 2020, en repoussant certaines en toute fin d'année, comme par exemple le bloc-feuillet EUROPA finalement mis en circulation le 30 décembre 2020.
Pour rappel, le thème choisi par l'association PostEurop pour les timbres EUROPA émis en 2020 était consacrés aux anciennes routes postales ("Ежелгі пошта бағыттары" en kazakh).
Ce bloc-feuillet (800 KZT, tirage : 10000) incluant un timbre de forme trapézoïdale, conçu par G. Altayeva, figure sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée en recommandé le 18 mai 2021 depuis la ville de Petropavlovsk (nord du pays). Merci beaucoup Sergey ! 
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Kazakhstan Post had to suspend many stamp issues in 2020, postponing some at the very end of the year, such as the EUROPA souvenir sheet finally put into circulation on December 30, 2020.
As a reminder, the theme chosen by the PostEurop association for the EUROPA stamps issued in 2020 was devoted to the ancient postal routes ("Ежелгі пошта бағыттары" in Kazakh).
This souvenir sheet (800 KZT, print run: 10,000) including a trapezoidal-shaped stamp, designed by G. Altayeva, was used on the cover below sent by registered mail on May 18, 2021 from the city of Petropavlovsk (north of the country). Thank you very much Sergey!

 

Pour illustrer ce thème des anciennes routes postales, la poste kazakhe a choisi d'évoquer d'anciens sites situés sur la route de la soie, cet ancien réseau de routes commerciales entre l'Asie et l'Europe; progressivement abandonné à partir du 15ème siècle.
On imagine que ce réseau permettait également le transport de messages et de lettres, sur une route de la soie qui traversait la partie sud du territoire du Kazakhstan actuel, en particulier Otrar (en bas à gauche sur le timbre), une ville fantôme qui faisait partie du royaume de Khwarezm, et Turkestan et son mausolée du mystique soufi Ahmed Yasavi (12ème siècle), un important lieu de pèlerinage en Asie centrale, représenté en haut à droite sur le timbre.
Un autre mausolée, celui du mystique religieux Arystan Bab, construit au 14ème siècle (reconstruit au 18ème puis au début du 20ème siècle) près des villages de Kogam et Otrartobe, est représenté en bas à gauche dans la marge de ce bloc-feuillet, la partie droite évoquant les vestiges de l'ancienne cité de Sauran, tombée à l'abandon après la fin de la route de la soie et le début des différentes invasions de cette région.
To illustrate this theme of ancient postal routes, the Kazakh Post chose to evoke ancient sites located on the Silk Road, this ancient network of trade routes between Asia and Europe; gradually abandoned from the 15th century.
We imagine that this network also allowed the transport of messages and letters, on a Silk Road which crossed the southern part of the territory of current Kazakhstan, in particular Otrar (lower left on the stamp), a ghost town which was part of the Khwarazmian empire, and Turkestan and its Mausoleum of Khawaja Ahmed Yasawi (12th century), an important place of pilgrimage in Central Asia, depicted at the top right on the stamp.
Another mausoleum, that of the religious mystic Arystan Bab, built in the 14th century (rebuilt in the 18th then at the beginning of the 20th century) near the villages of Kogam and Otrartobe, is depicted at the bottom left in the margin of this souvenir sheet, the right side evoking the remains of the ancient city of Sauran, abandoned after the end of the Silk Road and the start of the various invasions of this region.
