"Diplomatic relations with Pakistan's 70th anniversary" joint set on FDC from China

On May 21, 1951, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the People's Republic of China officially established diplomatic relations, with Pakistan recognizing the Communist regime in China (to the detriment of the Republic of China).
Since the 1960s, the two countries have maintained very close political, economic and military relations, with concrete recent cooperation projects such as the belt and road initiative dear to the Chinese government or the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) signed in 2015, aiming to rapidly modernize Pakistan's infrastructure and strengthen its economy through modern transportation networks, energy projects and special economic zones.
Within the framework of this CPEC, an express road must in particular connect the port of Gwadar (southwest coast of Pakistan) to the north of the country, at the border with China.

This theme of ports was chosen to illustrate the joint series (2 stamps) put into circulation on May 21, 2021 by the 2 countries, in order to celebrate the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
The Chinese version of this series (1.20 yuan for each stamp printed on sheet of 12 stamps), designed by Ma Lihang, was used on this pretty letter sent on the first day of issue from the city of Shenyang (Liaoning province). Thank you very much Wenbo!
To note these wave-shaped horizontal perforations (Pakistani stamps were hexagonal) on the two stamps, respectively featuring the port of Gwadar (Pakistan) and the Gaolan port of Zhuhai (China), two twin cities since 2015 and the visit of President Xi Jinping to Pakistan.
Zhuhai Port is one of China's 24 major ports, playing a major economic role in Guangdong Province, located near Shenzhen, Macau and Hong Kong.
