Sur proposition de la poste ukrainienne, le thème choisi par l'organisation PostEurop pour les timbres EUROPA 2023 est "La Paix - la valeur humaine la plus importante" ("Mir - najveća vrijednost čovječanstva" en croate), en écho à l'agression du pays par la Russie débutée il y a plus d'un an.
Ce choix sonne comme un rappel de la volonté qui avait présidé en 1950 à la création de l'Union européenne après la 2ème Guerre mondiale, résumée par Robert Schuman en une formule désormais célèbre : faire l'Europe pour faire la Paix.
Pour illustrer ce thème 2023, PostEurop a organisé un concours au sein des pays membres et c'est le projet "Nœud de la paix" de la poste luxembourgeoise (auteurs : Linda Bos et Runa Egilsdottir - A Designers' Collective) qui a été choisi, parmi 29 propositions.
Ce projet représente des cœurs entrelacés, et des mains aux doigts entremêlés, inspirés des nœuds d'amour celtiques. Les différentes couleurs renvoient à tous les pays du monde, unis par ce nouveau symbole de paix, une sorte de société fondée sur la coopération, dans laquelle les individus sont solidaires.
On the proposal of the Ukrainian Post, the theme chosen by the PostEurop organization for the EUROPA 2023 stamps is "Peace - the highest value of humanity" ("Mir - najveća vrijednost čovječanstva" in Croatian), echoing the aggression of the country by Russia which began more than one year ago.
This choice sounds like a reminder of the will that presided over the creation of the European Union in 1950 after the Second World War, summed up by Robert Schuman in a now famous formula: make Europe to make Peace.
To illustrate this 2023 theme, PostEurop organized a competition within the member countries and the Luxembourg Post's "Peace Knot" project (authors: Linda Bos and Runa Egilsdottir - A Designers' Collective) was chosen from among 29 proposals.
This project represents intertwined hearts, and hands with intertwined fingers, inspired by Celtic love knots. The different colors refer to all the countries of the world, united by this new symbol of peace, a kind of society based on cooperation, in which individuals stand together.

Le 9 mai 2023 (Journée de l'Europe), la poste croate de Mostar (HP Mostar), l'un des 3 opérateurs postaux de la Bosnie-Herzégovine (BiH), avec la Pošte Srpske et la poste de la Fédération de BiH de Sarajevo, a mis en circulation sa série EUROPA, avec un timbre (3,50 BAM) reproduisant ce "Nœud de la paix" commun et un autre timbre (3,50 BAM) représentant le projet de la poste croate de Mostar (conception : Marin Musa) pour ce concours PostEurop. 
Ces 2 timbres (tirage : 5000 chacun) ont été imprimés dans un même feuillet composé de 8 timbres (4 de chaque) + 2 vignettes ainsi que dans un bloc-feuillet incluant les 2 timbres.
Ces 2 timbres ont été utilisés sur cette lettre envoyée le 22 mai 2023 depuis la ville de Kiseljak (nord-est de Sarajevo). Merci beaucoup Miro !
Le 2ème timbre EUROPA représente une colombe blanche portant un rameau d'olivier, symbolisant la paix comme la plus grande valeur de l'humanité. Le ciel dans le corps de la colombe symbolise que nous ne faisons qu'un sous le ciel. La colombe porte un message d'harmonie et indique que les guerres et les conflits ne sont jamais la solution... 
On May 9, 2023 (the Europe Day), the Croatian Post of Mostar (HP Mostar), one of the 3 postal operators in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), together with Pošte Srpske and the Post of the BiH Federation in Sarajevo, has put into circulation its EUROPA series, with a stamp (3.50 BAM) reproducing this common "Peace Knot" and another stamp (3.50 BAM) representing the project of the Croatian Post of Mostar (design : Marin Musa) for this PostEurop contest.
These two stamps (print run: 5,000 each) were printed in the same sheetlet composed of 8 stamps (4 of each) + 2 labels as well as in a miniature sheet including the two stamps.
These two stamps were used on this cover sent on May 22, 2023 from the city of Kiseljak (north-east of Sarajevo). Thank you very much Miro!
The 2nd EUROPA stamp depicts a white dove carrying an olive branch, symbolizing peace as the greatest value of humanity. The sky in the body of the dove symbolizes that we are all one under the sky. The dove carries a message of harmony and indicates that wars and conflicts are never the solution... 

"Sustainable development - ESG" stamp set on cover from Greece

Le 26 janvier 2023, la poste grecque a mis en circulation une intéressante série (3 timbres) consacrée au développement durable et en particulier aux critères environnementaux, sociaux et de gouvernance (ESG).
Ces critères englobent les activités d'une entreprise pouvant avoir des impacts sur la société ou l'environnement. De caractère moral, ils constituent les trois dimensions principales utilisées pour mesurer la durabilité et l'impact éthique d'un investissement dans une société ou dans un domaine économique.
Ces 3 timbres, conçus par Myrsini Vardopoulou, ont été utilisés sur cette lettre envoyée le 26 mai 2023 depuis Athènes. Merci beaucoup Alqi !
Le premier timbre (0,50€, tirage : 300000) est consacré au critère environnemental, qui mesure l'impact direct ou indirect de l'activité de l'entreprise sur l'environnement (émissions de CO2, consommation d'électricité, recyclage des déchets...). 
On January 26, 2023, the Greek Post released an interesting series (3 stamps) dedicated to sustainable development and in particular to environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria.
These criteria encompass the activities of a company that may have impacts on society or the environment. Moral in nature, they are the three main dimensions used to measure the sustainability and ethical impact of an investment in a company or in an economic area.
These three stamps, designed by Myrsini Vardopoulou, were used on this cover sent on May 26, 2023 from Athens. Thank you very much Alqi!
The first stamp (€0.50, print run: 300,000) is dedicated to the environmental criterion, which measures the direct or indirect impact of the company's activity on the environment (CO2 emissions, electricity consumption, waste recycling...).

Le 2ème timbre (0,90€, tirage : 500000) illustre le critère social, c'est-à-dire l'impact direct ou indirect de l'activité de l'entreprise sur les parties prenantes (collaborateurs, clients, fournisseurs) par référence à des valeurs universelles (droits humains, normes internationales du travail, sécurité...).
Le dernier timbre (2,00€, tirage : 200000) est consacré au critère de gouvernance, portant sur la manière dont l'entreprise est dirigée, administrée et contrôlée (relations avec les actionnaires, conseil d'administration et direction, transparence de la rémunération des dirigeants, lutte contre la corruption) et sur le droits des actionnaires.
Ce timbre conçu à partir du symbole du code barre (avec la pollution induite par l'entreprise à gauche et ses impacts sur l'environnement à droite) me rappelle le timbre EUROPA commun émis en 2016...

The last stamp (€2.00, print run: 200,000) is devoted to the governance criterion, relating to the way in which the company is run, administered and controlled (relations with shareholders, board of directors and management, transparency of compensation of executives, fight against corruption) and on the rights of shareholders.
This stamp designed from the barcode symbol (with the pollution induced by the company on the left and its impacts on the environment on the right) reminds me of the common EUROPA stamp issued in 2016...

A noter le TAD spécial mis en circulation à l'occasion de la 136ème édition de l'exposition philatélique et numismatique Veronafil organisée du 19 au 21 mai 2023.
Selon le rapport du jury de PostEurop, ce motif "Nœud de la paix" est une métaphore visuelle d'une société pacifique dans laquelle la coopération dans le respect de la culture de chacun est centrale.

"Nicolaus Copernicus - 550th birth anniversary" joint m/s with Poland, on cover from Vatican

Bloc-feuillet "Nicolas Copernic - 550 ans de sa naissance", commun avec la Pologne, sur lettre du Vatican

Comme la République serbe de Bosnie-Herzégovine, la Bulgarie ou la République tchèque, la Pologne et la Cité du Vatican ont mis en circulation, le 27 février 2023, un bloc-feuillet commun consacré au 550ème anniversaire de la naissance de l'astronome, chanoine, médecin et mathématicien polonais Nicolas Copernic (1473-1543).
Après avoir étudié les arts à l'Université Jagellon de Cracovie, il découvre la médecine, les mathématiques et surtout l'astronomie à l'université de Bologne (Italie), observant alors des éclipses ou des occultations d'étoiles par la Lune. De retour en Pologne à partir de l'an 1500, Copernic va consacrer le reste de sa vie à mener de front son travail de chanoine et ses recherches astronomiques qu'il conduit dans son observatoire de Frombork. 
Alors que depuis Ptolémée et Aristote, la Terre est placée au centre de l'Univers (géocentrisme), Copernic envisage de mettre le Soleil au centre de tout (héliocentrisme), une hypothèse qu'avait déjà envisagée Aristarque de Samos, un astronome grec qui vécut 300 ans avant J-C. 
Like the Serbian Republic of Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria or Czech Republic, Poland and the Vatican City put into circulation, on February 27, 2023, a joint miniature sheet dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the birth of the Polish astronomer, canon, doctor and mathematician Nicolaus Copernicus (1473-1543).
After studying arts at the Jagiellonian University of Krakow, he discovered medicine, mathematics and especially astronomy at the University of Bologna, Italy, observing eclipses or occultations of stars by the Moon. Back in Poland from the year 1500, Copernic will devote the rest of his life to carrying out his work as a canon and his astronomical research which he conducts in his observatory at Frombork.
While since Ptolemy and Aristotle, the Earth has been placed at the center of the Universe (geocentrism), Copernicus plans to put the Sun at the center of everything (heliocentrism), a hypothesis that had already been considered by Aristarque of Samos, a Greek astronomer who lived 300 years BC.

Copernic annonce également que la Terre tourne sur elle-même, que la Lune est son satellite et que toutes les planètes tournent autour du Soleil. Il développe ses théories dans deux ouvrages majeurs : "Commentariolus" et "De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium" achevé vers 1530.
Copernic a volontairement retardé la publication de ses idées, craignant la réaction hostile de l'Église qui se refuse à envisager la mobilité de la Terre autour du Soleil et n'acceptera cette idée qu'au début du 19ème siècle.
Quand Copernic meurt en 1543, ses idées ne sont connues que de quelques scientifiques. Au cours du 16ème siècle elles circuleront en cachette et séduiront de grands esprits comme Galilée, Léonard de Vinci ou Johannes Kepler.
La version vaticane de ce bloc-feuillet commun (1,25€, tirage : 38500) a été utilisée sur cette lettre envoyée le 3 mai 2023 depuis la Cité du Vatican. Merci beaucoup Salvatore !
Ce bloc-feuillet a été conçu à partir du tableau intitulé "L'astronome Copernic ou Conversations avec Dieu", une œuvre de Jan Matejko (1838-1893), considéré comme le plus grand peintre historique polonais, peinte vers 1873 à l'occasion du 400ème anniversaire de la naissance de Nicolas Copernic.
Cette peinture fait partie des collections du musée de l'Université Jagellon de Cracovie.
Copernicus also announces that the Earth rotates on itself, that the Moon is its satellite and that all the planets revolve around the Sun. He develops his theories in two major works: "Commentariolus" and "De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium" completed around 1530.
Copernicus deliberately delayed the publication of his ideas, fearing the hostile reaction of the Church which refused to consider the mobility of the Earth around the Sun and would not accept this idea until the beginning of the 19th century.
When Copernicus died in 1543, his ideas were only known to a few scientists. During the 16th century they circulated in secret and seduced great minds such as Galileo, Leonardo da Vinci or Johannes Kepler.

This miniature sheet was designed from the work of art entitled "Astronomer Copernicus or Conversations with God", a work by Jan Matejko (1838-1893), considered the greatest Polish historical painter, painted around 1873 on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus.
This painting is part of the collections of the Jagiellonian University Museum in Krakow.

Le 5 mai 2023, la poste de Serbie a mis en circulation sa série EUROPA, avec un timbre reproduisant ce "Nœud de la paix" commun (48 dinars) et un autre timbre (120 dinars) représentant le projet de la poste serbe (conception : frères Zamurović) pour ce concours PostEurop. 
Ces 2 timbres (tirage : 25000 chacun), imprimés chacun en feuillets de 8 timbres, ont été utilisés sur cette lettre envoyée le 24 mai 2023 depuis la ville de Novi Sad. Merci beaucoup Dusan !
Le 2ème timbre EUROPA illustre une colombe blanche, symbole de paix universellement reconnaissable qui émerge avec une branche d'olivier de la forêt sombre, symbolisant tous les défis de sécurité de l'humanité moderne, apportant l'espoir que la paix mondiale, en tant que valeur humaine universelle et la plus élevée, soit toujours possible.
Ce timbre rappelle aussi que les plantes nous sont indispensables car elles nous fournissent de l'oxygène, nous permettent de respirer, d'être libres.

The 2nd EUROPA stamp illustrates a white dove, a universally recognizable symbol of peace that emerges with an olive branch from the dark forest, symbolizing all the security challenges of modern humanity, bringing hope that global peace, as a universal and highest human value, is still possible.
This stamp also reminds us that plants are essential to us as they provide oxygen, allowing us to breathe, to be free. 

"Alto Vista Chapel" stamps on cover from Aruba

Timbres "Chapelle d'Alto Vista" sur lettre d'Aruba

Un grand merci Tristan pour cette lettre en provenance d'Aruba, envoyée le 12 mai 2023 depuis cette île des petites Antilles (aucune mention de lieu précis sur l'oblitération, uniquement "Post Aruba"), située au large du Vénézuela, un État autonome du Royaume des Pays-Bas depuis 1986.
Cette île faisait partie auparavant (avec 5 autres îles : Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint-Eustatius et Sint Maarten) des Antilles Néerlandaises et émet ses propres timbres depuis 1986.
Tristan a utilisé 2 timbres (50c et 220c) faisant partie d'une série courante (14 timbres) émise en 2007, consacrée à la chapelle d'Alto Vista, l'un des plus anciens édifices religieux d'Aruba, située sur les collines surplombant la mer, au nord-est de la ville de Noord (nord-ouest de l'île). 
A big thank you Tristan for this letter from Aruba, sent on May 12, 2023 from this island of the Lesser Antilles (no mention of specific place on the postmark, only "Post Aruba"), located off the coast of Venezuela, a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands since 1986. 
This island was previously part (with 5 other islands: Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint-Eustatius and Sint Maarten) of the Netherlands Antilles and has issued its own stamps since 1986.
Tristan used two stamps (50c and 220c) part of a definitive series (14 stamps) issued in 2007, dedicated to the Alto Vista Chapel, one of the oldest religious buildings in Aruba, located on the hills overlooking the sea, northeast of the town of Noord (northwest of the island).

La chapelle catholique actuelle d'Alto Vista, peinte à l'extérieur en jaune vif, a été achevée en 1952 et se trouve au même endroit que la chapelle d'origine, qui a été construite en 1750 par Domingo Silvestre, un missionnaire vénézuélien de Santa Ana de Coro.
Cette chapelle a été déclarée être le lieu où la conversion des Indiens d'Aruba au christianisme a commencé.
La nouvelle chapelle a été repensée et construite en 1952 par l'ingénieur néerlandais J.A. Hille, au même emplacement d'une ancienne chapelle, avec la même orientation.
La chapelle est entourée de bancs semi-circulaires. Il y a quelques croix qui y sont consacrées dont une ancienne croix espagnole, l'une des plus anciennes œuvres d'art européennes des Caraïbes néerlandaises. Une statue d'autel de la Vierge Marie y a été installée après le vandalisme de la précédente. La structure n'a pas de vitraux mais présente une atmosphère très sereine pour offrir des prières.
The current Alto Vista Catholic Chapel, painted bright yellow on the outside, was completed in 1952 and stands in the same location as the original chapel, which was built in 1750 by Domingo Silvestre, a Venezuelan missionary from Santa Ana de Coro.
This chapel has been claimed to be the place where the conversion of Aruba Indians to Christianity began.
The new chapel was redesigned and built in 1952 by the Dutch engineer J.A. Hille, on the same site of an old chapel, with the same orientation.
The chapel is surrounded by semi-circular pews. There are a few crosses dedicated there including an old Spanish cross, one of the oldest European works of art in the Dutch Caribbean. An altar statue of the Virgin Mary was installed there after the vandalism of the previous one. The structure has no stained glass windows but presents a very serene atmosphere for offering prayers.

This project represents intertwined hearts, and hands with intertwined fingers, inspired by Celtic love knots. The different colors refer to all the countries of the world, united by this new symbol of peace, a kind of society based on cooperation, in which individuals stand together.

On May 16, 2023, the Luxembourg Post put into circulation a unique EUROPA stamp, reproducing this common "Peace Knot".

Special "Transportation of the U17 submarine to the Sinsheim Museum" cover from Germany

Lettre spéciale "Transport du sous-marin U-17 vers le musée de Sinsheim" d'Allemagne

Mis en service en 1973, le sous-marin "Unterseeboot 17" ("U-17") de type 206 de la marine allemande, mesurant 48 mètres de long et pesant 900 tonnes, a été décommissionné en 2010 puis a stationné dans le port militaire de Wilhelmshaven jusqu'en 2021, puis à Kiel pour être démilitarisé.
Avec le U-26, le U-17 fut le premier sous-marin allemand dans les eaux américaines après la Seconde Guerre mondiale. C'était aussi le premier à entrer dans le port de Baltimore après que le dernier sous-marin y ait accosté en 1916.
Ces sous-marins de type 206 ont servi la marine allemande pendant près de 40 ans, plus longtemps que tout autre sous-marin avant eux.
A l'occasion du transport de ce sous-marin vers Speyer puis le musée technique de Sinsheim cette année, une empreinte spéciale a été mise en circulation, appliquée avec une encre bleue sur cette enveloppe envoyée le 28 avril 2023 depuis Kiel. Merci beaucoup Jens !
Commissioned in 1973, the German Navy's Type 206 submarine "Unterseeboot 17" ("U-17"), measuring 48 meters in length and weighing 900 tonnes, was decommissioned in 2010 and then parked in the military harbor in Wilhelmshaven until 2021, then in Kiel to be demilitarized.
Together with the U-26, the U-17 was the first German submarine in American waters after World War II. It was also the first to enter Baltimore Harbor after the last submarine docked there in 1916.
These Type 206 submarines served the German Navy for almost 40 years, longer than any other submarine before them.
On the occasion of the transport of this submarine to Speyer and then to the Sinsheim Technical Museum this year, a special imprint was put into circulation, applied with a blue ink on this envelope sent on April 28, 2023 from Kiel. Thank you very much Jens!

Jens a affranchi cette enveloppe avec 2 timbres (0,95€, émis le 3 janvier 2005, 0,15€, émis le 18 décembre 2018) faisant partie de la série courante "fleurs" en cours (débutée en 2005), une fleur de tournesol, une fleur de cardamine des prés ici, pour constituer le tarif en vigueur pour un envoi en Europe (1,10€) jusqu'à 20g.
This imprint mentions the dates of commissioning (ID) and decommissioning (AD) of this submarine as well as the details of its transport (on a barge chartered by the Dutch group "Royal Van der Wees"), using the Kiel Canal (NOK) then via Rotterdam and up the Rhine to Speyer and finally by road to the Sinsheim museum.
To note also on the left the special cachet (black ink) which was used for mail posted on board this U-17 submarine.
Jens franked this envelope with two stamps (€0.95, issued on January 3, 2005, €0.15, issued on December 18, 2018) belonging to the ongoing definitive series "flowers" (started in 2005), a sunflower, a mayflower here, to constitute the current rate for a shipment to Europe (€1.10) up to 20g.

The 2nd EUROPA stamp (with adjoining margin with the mention "Peace" in Swedish - "Fred") illustrates a sunrise over cliffs and water. Together, the sun and its reflection form the sign of peace. This sunrise symbolizes hope, growth and new beginnings. 

"24 Hours of Le Mans - 100th anniversary" m/s on FDC from France

Les 24 Heures du Mans 2023 sont la 91ème édition des 24 Heures du Mans et se déroulent en ce moment, les 10 et 11 juin 2023, sur le circuit des 24 Heures, un circuit routier du sud de la ville du Mans (longueur actuelle : 13,626 km). Il s'agit de la 4ème épreuve du championnat du monde d'endurance FIA 2023.
Cette édition marque les 100 ans de la création de l'épreuve des 24 Heures du Mans. La première édition a en effet eu lieu les 26 et 27 mai 1923, remportée par André Lagache et René Léonard sur une Chenard & Walcker.
Cette épreuve est la plus ancienne et la plus prestigieuse des courses d'endurance pour automobile de sport et sport-prototype et fait partie à ce titre de la triple couronne du sport automobile, avec le Grand Prix de Monaco en Formule 1 et les 500 miles d'Indianapolis en Indy Car (seul le pilote britannique Graham Hill a remporté ces 3 courses).

Un embossage est réalisé sur le logo "24H Le Mans" dans la marge en haut à gauche, le timbre rond symbolisant le temps étant imprimé avec une encre dorée spéciale.
J'aime beaucoup le timbre en haut à gauche, en noir et blanc (pour symboliser ces 100 ans) avec une voiture des années 1920 et une voiture actuelle sur la ligne de départ, survolée par la Patrouille de France.

An embossment is made on the "24H Le Mans" logo in the upper left margin, the round stamp symbolizing the time being printed with a special golden ink.
I really love the stamp at the top left, in black and white (to symbolize these 100 years) with a car from the 1920s and a current car on the starting line, overflown by the Patrouille de France.
It should be noted that other postal administrations (Serb Republic of Bosnia & Herzegovina, North Macedonia) also issued stamps in 2023 dedicated to this 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the French Post having already issued a stamp in 1973 devoted to the 50th anniversary.

Les familles algériennes conservent autant de coutumes et de traditions séculaires, dont les gâteaux traditionnels de toutes sortes. Les gâteaux et les sucreries traditionnels algériens sont toujours présents lors des fêtes et occasions et chaque spécialité a son propre gout et sa propre forme, et ces gâteaux varient selon l'occasion et la région.
Parmi ces gâteaux, le makrout, pâtisserie très populaire au Maghreb (Algérie, Maroc, Libye et Tunisie) et à Malte, à base de semoule de blé et de pâte de dattes, reconnaissable à sa forme en losange.
Le 24 avril 2023 (vente générale), la poste algérienne a mis en circulation une jolie série de 2 timbres consacrée à différentes sortes de makrouts, le makrout aux amandes (50 dinars, conception : Zineb Bahri) et le makrout au miel (50 dinars, conception : Nadjib Mahmoudi).

Algerian families maintain so many centuries-old customs and traditions, including traditional cakes of all kinds. Traditional Algerian cakes and sweets are always present during festivals and occasions and each specialty has its own taste and its own shape, and these cakes vary according to the occasion and the region.
Among these cakes, makrout, a very popular pastry in the Maghreb (Algeria, Morocco, Libya and Tunisia) and in Malta, made from wheat semolina and date paste, recognizable by its diamond shape.
On April 24, 2023 (general sale), the Algerian Post put into circulation a nice series of two stamps dedicated to different kinds of makrouts, the almond makrout (50 dinars, design: Zineb Bahri) and the honey makrout (50 dinars , design: Nadjib Mahmoudi).

Le makrout est préparé en superposant une couche de pâte à base de semoule de blé dur et une couche de pâte de dattes, ou quelquefois de figues ou d'amandes. Le tout est ensuite roulé, puis découpé sous forme de losanges ou de triangles avant la cuisson, et le plus souvent frit dans une huile végétale. Le makrout est ensuite trempé dans un sirop à base de miel et d'eau de fleurs d'oranger. Il est consommé froid.
Le makrout lassel (makrout au miel), spécialité originaire principalement de Sétif, mais adoptée par les Algérois qui la considèrent comme typique, est préparé à base de semoule, farcie avec des amandes moulues et parfumée avec de la cannelle et de l'eau de fleur d'oranger.
Le makrout el louz (makrout aux amandes) est une spécialité confectionnée principalement avec de la poudre d'amandes, du sucre, des œufs et du zeste de citron. Elle est aussi préparée avec de l'eau de fleur d'oranger qui lui donne un parfum authentique, puis enrobée dans du sucre glace.
Makrout is prepared by superimposing a layer of dough made from durum wheat semolina and a layer of date dough, or sometimes figs or almonds. The whole thing is then rolled up, then cut in the form of diamonds or triangles before cooking, and most often fried in vegetable oil. The makrout is then soaked in a syrup made from honey and orange blossom water. It is eaten cold.
Makrout lassel (honey makrout), a specialty originating mainly from Sétif, but adopted by the Algiers inhabitants who consider it typical, is prepared with semolina, stuffed with ground almonds and flavored with cinnamon and orange blossom water.
Makrout el louz (almond makrout) is a specialty made mainly with ground almonds, sugar, eggs and lemon zest. It is also prepared with orange blossom water which gives it an authentic flavor, then coated in icing sugar.

Selon le rapport du jury de PostEurop, ce motif "Nœud de la paix" est une métaphore visuelle d'une société pacifique dans laquelle la coopération dans le respect de la culture de chacun est centrale.
On May 9, 2023 (the Europe Day), the Spanish Post Correos put into circulation a unique EUROPA stamp, reproducing this common "Peace Knot".
This stamp (permanent rate "B" to Europe up to 20g - currently €1.65, print run: 130,000) was used on this cover sent on May 22, 2023 from Madrid. Thank you very much Luis!
It should be noted that the Spanish Post took part in this EUROPA competition organized by PostEurop (with a design representing the heart-shaped outlined faces of a man and a woman, intertwined by the modern peace sign, creating a powerful image: the silhouette of a dove of peace) but chose not to issue a 2nd EUROPA stamp reproducing it...
According to the PostEurop jury report, this "Peace Knot" motif is a visual metaphor for a peaceful society in which cooperation with respect for each other's culture is central.

Sur proposition de la poste ukrainienne, le thème choisi par l'organisation PostEurop pour les timbres EUROPA 2023 est "La Paix - la valeur humaine la plus importante", en écho à l'agression du pays par la Russie débutée il y a plus d'un an.
Ce choix sonne comme un rappel de la volonté qui avait présidé en 1950 à la création de l'Union européenne après la 2ème Guerre mondiale, résumée par Robert Schuman en une formule désormais célèbre : faire l'Europe pour faire la Paix.
Pour illustrer ce thème 2023, PostEurop a organisé un concours au sein des pays membres et c'est le projet "Nœud de la paix" de la poste luxembourgeoise (auteurs : Linda Bos et Runa Egilsdottir - A Designers' Collective) qui a été choisi, parmi 29 propositions.
Ce projet représente des cœurs entrelacés, et des mains aux doigts entremêlés, inspirés des nœuds d'amour celtiques. Les différentes couleurs renvoient à tous les pays du monde, unis par ce nouveau symbole de paix, une sorte de société fondée sur la coopération, dans laquelle les individus sont solidaires.

To illustrate this 2023 theme, PostEurop organized a competition within the member countries and the Luxembourg Post's "Peace Knot" project (authors: Linda Bos and Runa Egilsdottir - A Designers' Collective) was chosen from among 29 proposals.
This project represents intertwined hearts, and hands with intertwined fingers, inspired by Celtic love knots. The different colors refer to all the countries of the world, united by this new symbol of peace, a kind of society based on cooperation, in which individuals stand together.

Le 2ème timbre EUROPA représente une branche d'olivier, ayant servi de symbole de paix dans de nombreuses cultures pendant des siècles. Les couleurs complémentaires de l'illustration confèrent au rameau un éclat de lumière spécial. Les mains qui le soulèvent grâce à l'union des forces symbolisent les efforts communs en vue d'un monde meilleur, le timbre soulignant ainsi l'importance de la paix comme valeur suprême de l'humanité.

The 2nd EUROPA stamp depicts an olive branch, having served as a symbol of peace in many cultures for centuries. The complementary colors of the illustration give the branch a special burst of light. La Journée mondiale de la poste est célébrée chaque année le 9 octobre, une décision du Congrès postal universel en 1969 à Tokyo afin de marquer l'anniversaire de la création de l'Union Postale Universelle (UPU) en 1874.
L'objectif de la Journée mondiale de la poste est de faire prendre conscience du rôle de la poste dans la vie quotidienne des personnes et des entreprises, ainsi que de sa contribution au développement social et économique mondial. En conséquence, les 192 pays membres de l'UPU sont encouragés à organiser leurs propres activités nationales pour célébrer l'événement, allant de l'introduction ou de la promotion de nouveaux produits et services postaux à l'organisation de journées portes ouvertes dans les bureaux de poste, les centres de courrier et les musées postaux...
Le thème de la Journée mondiale de la poste 2022 était "La poste pour la planète" afin de mettre en lumière les éléments des activités quotidiennes que les postes rendent déjà plus durables pour assurer une planète plus verte pour les générations futures. 
L'UPU (Sonja Denovski) avait conçu une affiche illustrant ce slogan "La poste pour la planète" ainsi qu'un kit (timbre, enveloppe et TAD Premier Jour) suggérant aux administrations postales des pays membres de mettre en circulation des timbres la reproduisant. 
Ce fut le cas d'environ 25 administrations postales à travers le monde (Serbie, Belarus, Croatie, Russie, Fidji, Colombie, Cambodge, Sri Lanka, Égypte, Thaïlande...).

The theme for World Post Day 2022 was "Post for Planet" to highlight the elements of daily business that Posts are already making more sustainable to ensure a greener planet for future generations.
The UPU (Sonja Denovski) had designed a poster illustrating this slogan "Post for Planet" as well as a kit (stamp, First Day envelope and postmark) suggesting that the postal administrations of member countries put stamps reproducing it into circulation.
This was the case for around 25 postal administrations around the world (Serbia, Belarus, Croatia, Russia, Fiji, Colombia, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Thailand ...).

La poste indonésienne a également mis en circulation ce timbre commun (5000 IDR, date d'émission et tirage inconnus), sous la forme d'un timbre personnalisé, ne faisant pas partie de son programme philatélique 2022 officiel...
Ce timbre a été utilisé en 2 exemplaires sur cette lettre envoyée le 28 novembre 2022 depuis la ville de Malang (île de Java). Merci beaucoup Irene !
La mention "Journée mondiale de la poste" est présente sur ce timbre en haut en anglais, à côté de l'emblème de l'UPU (à noter que le drapeau de l'Indonésie n'est pas présent malgré les recommandations de l'UPU à propos de ce timbre commun).
Cette œuvre illustre un message visuel simplifié sur la contribution de la poste à un avenir écologiquement durable. En tant qu'image centrale, la planète Terre présente une distinction claire entre la nuit et le jour. En plus de représenter le contraste, la nuit et le jour représentent également la continuité et l'évolution.

Le 28 avril 2023, la Pošte Srpske, l'un des 3 opérateurs postaux de la Bosnie-Herzégovine (BiH), avec la poste croate de Mostar (HP Mostar) et la poste de la Fédération de BiH de Sarajevo, a mis en circulation sa série EUROPA, avec un timbre (3,30 BAM) reproduisant ce "Nœud de la paix" commun et un autre timbre (1,95 BAM) représentant le projet de la Pošte Srpske (conception : Danijela Popovic) pour ce concours PostEurop.

"140th anniversary of the publication of the poem Luceafărul" postmark on cover from Moldova

TAD "140 ans de la publication du poème Luceafărul" sur lettre de Moldavie

Il y a 140 ans (en 1883), Mihai Eminescu publiait l'un de ses plus grands poèmes, "Luceafărul" ("L'étoile du soir" ou "Hypérion") considéré aujourd'hui comme un chef-d'œuvre et un des plus longs poèmes (392 vers) consacrés à l'amour jamais écrits dans le monde.
"Luceafărul" est célèbre non seulement à titre de chef-d'œuvre de l'art poétique, mais aussi parce qu'il s'agit de l'une des toutes dernières œuvres achevées et lues en public par Eminescu avant sa grave maladie mentale et son internement.
Pour rappel, Mihai Eminescu (1850-1889) est l'un des monstres sacrés de la littérature roumaine, poète romantique considéré comme le plus grand et le plus représentatif poète roumain, poète national en Roumanie mais aussi en Moldavie et pour la minorité roumaine vivant en Ukraine.
Pour célébrer le 140ème anniversaire de la publication de "Luceafărul", la poste de Moldavie a mis en circulation le 20 avril 2023 un TAD spécial. 
140 years ago (in 1883), Mihai Eminescu published one of his greatest poems, "Luceafărul" ("The Evening Star") considered today as a masterpiece and one of the longest (392 verses) love poems ever written in the world.
"Luceafărul" is famous not only as a masterpiece of poetic art, but also because it is one of the very last works completed and read in public by Eminescu before his serious mental illness and his internment.
As a reminder, Mihai Eminescu (1850-1889) is one of the sacred monsters of Romanian literature, romantic poet considered as the greatest and most representative Romanian poet, national poet in Romania but also in Moldova and for the Romanian minority living in Ukraine.
To celebrate the 140th anniversary of the publication of "Luceafărul", the Post of Moldova put into circulation on April 20, 2023 a special postmark.

Ce TAD (étoile et portrait d'Eminescu), conçu par Eugeniu Verebceanu, a été appliqué par le bureau principal de Chișinău (MD-2012) sur l'enveloppe illustrée ci-dessus émise en 2019 (tirage : 5000, conception : Lilian Iațco) consacrée à la Journée mondiale de la poésie. Merci beaucoup Nicolae !
Nicolae a affranchi cette lettre avec un bloc-feuillet (4,50 L) faisant partie d'une série (4 timbres + 1 bloc-feuillet) émise le 15 janvier 2010, consacrée à des personnalités illustres, Mihai Eminescu ici à l'occasion du 160ème anniversaire de sa naissance.
La vignette de ce bloc-feuillet représente différents recueils de poésies de cette icône de la littérature de langue roumaine.
L'autre timbre (5,75 L) fait partie d'une série (2 timbres) émise le 15 janvier 2013, consacrée à des représentations du poète Eminescu en peinture, un tableau intitulé "Dedicaţie" ("Dédicace", 1989) par le peintre Vasile Naşcu (né en 1939), conservé au musée national des arts de Moldavie ici.
Cette série coïncidait avec le 130ème anniversaire de la publication de ce même poème "Luceafărul".

Nicolae stamped this letter with a souvenir sheet (4.50 L) belonging to a series (4 stamps + 1 souvenir sheet) issued on January 15, 2010, dedicated to illustrious personalities, Mihai Eminescu here on the occasion of the 160th anniversary of his birth.
The label of this souvenir sheet represents different collections of poetry by this icon of Romanian-language literature.
The other stamp (5.75 L) is part of a series (2 stamps) issued on January 15, 2013, dedicated to depictions of the poet Eminescu in painting, a painting entitled "Dedicaţie" ("Dedication", 1989) by the painter Vasile Naşcu (born in 1939), kept in the National Museum of Arts of Moldova here.

Comme les années précédentes, ces 2 timbres ont été imprimés en feuille de 32 timbres (+ 8 vignettes) chacun, en feuillet de 8 timbres (4 de chaque) ainsi qu'en 2 versions de blocs-feuillets de 4 timbres (2 de chaque). Un bloc-feuillet incluant les 2 timbres non dentelés a également été mis en circulation en tirage limité (261 exemplaires).
Un grand merci Mihnea pour l'envoi de ce pli Premier Jour concernant ces 2 timbres EUROPA (tirage total : 58642), avec TAD (colombe de la paix) de Bucarest ! Ces 2 timbres ont été respectivement extraits des 2 différents blocs-feuillets de 4 timbres.
Le 2ème timbre EUROPA représente le tournesol comme symbole de paix mais aussi en référence à la fleur nationale ukrainienne. Les pétales jaunes du tournesol sont personnifiés ici par des colombes qui picorent les graines à l'intérieur de la fleur qui se transforment en continents.
On May 9, 2023 (the Europe Day), the Romanian Post put its EUROPA series into circulation, with a stamp (11 L) reproducing this common "Peace Knot" and another stamp (7.50 L) representing the Romanian Post's project (design: Mihai Criste) for this PostEurop competition.
As in previous years, these two stamps were printed in sheet of 32 stamps (+ 8 labels) each, in sheetlet of 8 stamps (4 of each) as well as in two versions of souvenir sheets of 4 stamps (2 of each). A souvenir sheet including the two imperforated stamps was also put into circulation in a limited edition (261 copies only).
A big thank you Mihnea for sending this First Day Cover concerning these two EUROPA stamps (total print run: 58,642), with postmark (dove of peace) from Bucharest! These two stamps were respectively extracted from the two different souvenir sheets of four stamps.
The 2nd EUROPA stamp represents the sunflower as a symbol of peace but also in reference to the Ukrainian national flower. The yellow petals of the sunflower are personified as doves that peck at seeds inside the flower that turn into continents.
