J'ai en effet déjà évoqué dans mon message précédent consacré à des cartes postale reçues de Finlande, les 2 timbres émis cette année en l'honneur du champion de Formule 1 en 2007, Kimi Räikkönen.
Avec seulement 1 point d'avance sur Lewis Hamilton et Fernando Alonso, Räikkönen a en effet remporté l'année dernière le championnat du monde des pilotes de Formule 1.
Et comme la poste finlandaise a coutume de le faire depuis Mika Häkkinen en 1999, deux timbres commémoratifs ont été émis dans le bloc-feuillet autocollants ci-dessous.

I've already mentioned in my previous post about postcards received from Finland, the two stamps issued this year in honor of the 2007 Formula 1 World Champion, Kimi Räikkönen.
With only one point ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, Raikkonen has indeed won the last year's drivers F1 world championship.
And as the Finnish Post is in the habit of doing since Mika Häkkinen in 1999, two commemorative stamps were issued in the self-adhesive souvenir sheet below.

Kimi Räikkönen, surnommé "Ice man", est représenté sur le timbre en haut à droite alors que sa monoplace de la Scuderia Ferrari, la "F2007", est représentée sur le timbre en bas du bloc.J'aime beaucoup l'oblitération "1er jour" avec sa forme spéciale rappelant le volant d'une Formule 1 !
L'illustration sur l'enveloppe est également bien choisie puisqu'elle représente un arrêt aux stands. Comme d'habitude, la poste finlandaise a inclus directement la date d'émission dans la partie haute de ce bloc, ce qui est je pense assez unique au monde !
Le championnat du monde 2008 s'est achevé le 2 novembre dernier avec la victoire de Lewis Hamilton, devant Felipe Massa (encore à 1 point !) et Kimi Räikkönen seulement 3ème avec seulement 2 victoires cette année (Malaisie et Espagne)...
Après 8 saisons et 140 Grand Prix en Formule 1, Räikkönen a remporté 17 victoires et 16 pole positions.

I love the FDC cancellation with its special shape recalling a Formula 1 wheel !
The illustration on this cover is also well chosen because it represents a pit stop. As usual, the Finnish post has directly included the date of issue in the upper part of this sheet, which I think is fairly unique in the world !
The 2008 World Championship ended on last November 2 with the victory of Lewis Hamilton, ahead of Felipe Massa (1 point ahead yet !) and Kimi Räikkönen only 3rd with only two wins this year (Malaysia and Spain)...
