A Vatican-Italy joint stamp issue

Comme déjà évoqué dans un message précédent, 2011 est une année de célébration en Italie à l'occasion du 150ème anniversaire de l'unité du pays.
Le 17 mars 1861, un mois après la 1ère séance du Parlement à Turin et après les 2 premières guerres d'indépendance et l'expédition des Mille, l'unité du pays était en effet établie avec la proclamation de Vittorio Emanuele II, roi d'Italie.
Après un 1er bloc-feuillet émis en 2010 (Expédition des Mille), 4 séries ont déjà été émises en 2011, dont un autre bloc-feuillet, émis le 21 mars 2011, émis conjointement par l'Italie et la cité du Vatican.
As already mentioned in a previous post, 2011 is a great year of celebration in Italy on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the country's unity.
On March 17, 1861, one month after the first session of Parliament in Turin and after two wars of independence and the Expedition of the Thousand, the country's unity was indeed established with the proclamation of Vittorio Emanuele II, King of Italy.
After a first souvenir sheet issued in 2010 (Expedition of the Thousand), four sets have already been issued in 2011, including another souvenir sheet, issued on March 21, 2011, issued jointly by Italy and Vatican City.

Le logo officiel du 150ème anniversaire de l'unité italienne est inclus en haut à gauche sur ce bloc qui reproduit une photographie ancienne montrant la Piazza del Popolo ("Place du Peuple") située dans le nord de la capitale, Rome.
L'obélisque égyptien provenant d'Héliopolis a été installé sur cette place en 1589 sur demande du pape Sixte V.
Les 2 églises "jumelles" Santa Maria dei Miracoli et Santa Maria in Montesanto, construites entre 1662 et 1679, figurent également sur ce timbre.
A noter que malgré la proximité des 2 pays, le bloc émis par le Vatican (tirage : 120000 exemplaires contre 1500000 pour le bloc italien) a été imprimé par Sweden Post Stamp et non par l'I.P.Z.S. italien...

The official logo of the 150th anniversary of Italian Unity is included in the top left on this sheet reproducing an old photograph showing the Piazza del Popolo ("People's Square") located in the north of the capital, Rome.
The Egyptian obelisk from Heliopolis was installed on this square in 1589 as part of the urban plan of Pope Sixtus V.
The two "twin" churches Santa Maria dei Miracoli and Santa Maria in Montesanto, built from 1662 to 1679, also appear on this stamp.
To note that despite the proximity of the two countries, the sheet issued by Vatican (printing run : 120,000 copies and 1,500,000 for the Italian sheet) was printed by Sweden Post Stamp and not by Italian I.P.Z.S...


Restons au Vatican avec cet autre timbre italien ci-dessus, émis le 29 avril 2011, consacré à la béatification de l'ancien pape Jean-Paul II qui a eu lieu le 1er mai 2011 place Saint-Pierre.
Ce timbre ci-dessus a été émis en feuille de 15 timbres autocollants avec la mention du Diocèse de Rome, dont l'évêque titulaire est le pape lui-même (Benoît XVI actuellement), dans la marge en haut à droite.
Ce timbre représente un portrait du pape Jean-Paul II par le photographe Grzegorz Galazka, datant du 8 Décembre 1998 à l'occasion de la bénédiction de la statue de la Vierge Immaculée à Rome.
A noter que la poste du Vatican a bien sûr également émis un timbre (le 12 avril 2011) consacré à la béatification de Jean-Paul II, une autre émission commune avec la Pologne, sa terre natale...
Let's stay in the Vatican City with this other Italian stamp above, issued on April 29, 2011, devoted to the beatification of former Pope John Paul II that took place on May 1, 2011 at St. Peter's Square.
The stamp above was issued in sheet of 15 self-adhesive stamps with the mention of the Diocese of Rome, having the Pope himself (now Benedict XVI) for titular bishop, in the top right margin.
This stamp features a portrait of Pope John Paul II by photographer Grzegorz Galazka, dating from December 8, 1998 on the occasion of the blessing of the statue of the Virgin Immaculate in Rome.
To note that the Post of the Vatican has of course also issued a stamp (on April 12, 2011) devoted to the beatification of John Paul II, another joint issue with Poland, his homeland...
