Relations diplomatiques Tunisie-Chine

Tunisia-China diplomatic relations

On January 9, 2014, the Chinese Embassy in Tunisia organized the launching ceremony of the commemorative stamps celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Tunisia.
This ceremony took place in the presence of Tunisian Prime Minister, the Chinese Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs as well as many ministers and Tunisian personalities.
Special postmarks were put into circulation by the postal administrations of the two countries.
It is however not a joint stamp issue since the Tunisian Post has issued a special stamp (0.7 Dinars) while China Post issued a stamp ("Galloping Horse treading on a Flying Swallow" statue, issued on May 19, 2013) with an attached customized coupon.

The customized coupon associated with this Chinese stamp is featuring the project of Cultural and sports Youth Center of El Menzah VI, located in Ariana (northern suburb of Tunis).
The Tunisian stamp was used to frank the cover above mailed on January 15, 2014 from the capital, Tunis. Thank you very much Bayrem :-)
That stamp, including the flags of the two countries, is devoted to the project of Medjerda - Cap Bon waterway, produced in collaboration with Chinese companies. The water supply of the Greater Tunis region is largely provided by this waterway that collects water from wadis of northern Tunisia.
Finally, to note that the First Day Cover issued on this occasion by the Tunisian Post features an illustration depicting landscapes of the Great Wall of China and the village of Sidi Bou Said, the "little white and blue paradise" of Tunisia.
