Le 16 novembre 2017 (année 106 localement), la Chunghwa Post de Taïwan a mis en circulation le 1er timbre d'une nouvelle série consacrée à des orchidées sauvages recensées sur l'île.
Cette série coïncide avec un ajustement des tarifs postaux avec en particulier ce nouveau timbre (NT $ 35) représentant l'espèce Cheirostylis octodactyla.
On November 16, 2017 (year 106 locally), the Chunghwa Post of Taiwan put into circulation the first stamp of a new series devoted to wild orchids recorded on the island.
This series coincides with an adjustment of postal rates with in particular this new stamp (NT $ 35) depicting the Orchid species Cheirostylis octodactyla.
Ce timbre (conception : Chi-jen Lai), imprimé en feuille de 100 timbres, figure sur le FDC officiel ci-dessus (conception : Jheng Yi-lang). Merci beaucoup George !
Les caractéristiques géologiques, topographiques et botaniques de Taïwan avec ses montagnes escarpées en font un endroit idéal pour de nombreuses espèces d'orchidées, en particulier cette espèce Cheirostylis octodactyla, recensée en moyenne et haute altitude, avec ses fleurs blanches composées de nombreux appendices en forme de plumes.

The geological, topographical and botanical characteristics of Taiwan with its rugged mountains make it an ideal place for many species of orchids, especially this species Cheirostylis octodactyla, living in medium and high altitude, with its white flowers composed of many feather-like appendages in front.
