A noter cette oblitération mécanique avec son slogan évoquant le 50ème anniversaire du Jour de la Terre ("Earth Day 1970-2020"), célébrée chaque année le 22 avril pour la protection de l'environnement.
À l'issue de la Guerre anglo-américaine, l'Alabama adhère à l'Union le 14 décembre 1819 et en devient le 22ème État. Il fait sécession en 1861 et rejoint les États confédérés d'Amérique, avant d'être réadmis dans l'Union en 1868 après la guerre de Sécession.
Le 23 février 2019, l'USPS a mis en circulation un timbre consacré au 200ème anniversaire de cet état de l'Alabama, situé dans le sud-est des États-Unis.

At the end of the Anglo-American War, Alabama joined the Union on December 14, 1819 and became its 22nd state. It seceded in 1861 and joined the Confederate States of America, before being readmitted to the Union in 1868 after the Civil War.
On February 23, 2019, the USPS issued a stamp dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Alabama Statehood, a state located in the southeastern United States.
Ce timbre (tarif permanent domestique "Forever" - 0,55$ actuellement) a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus, reproduisant une photographie (par Joe Miller) prise au coucher du soleil dans le parc national de Cheaha, avec le Pulpit Rock visible au premier plan.
Ce parc, situé dans le nord-est de l'Alabama, est le plus ancien de cet État.
L'Alabama, état du sud, a été au centre de nombreux événements importants dans le mouvement des droits civiques pendant les années 1950 et 1960.
L'autre timbre "Forever" à droite fait partie d'une série (5 timbres) émise le 7 août 2018, consacrée à l'art de la magie, une forme d'art qui occupe une place particulière dans l'histoire américaine.
Ce timbre a été imprimé afin de présenter un effet qui imite une illusion classique : en faisant bouger ce timbre, on peut découvrir un lapin blanc sortir d'un chapeau haut de forme noir !
Les 2 timbres de complément (5c), émis le 24 février 2017 (émission initiale en 2016), représentent des grappes de raisin pinot noir, un cépage originaire de Bourgogne et cultivé aujourd'hui aux USA (Californie, New York, Oregon...).

This park, located in northeast Alabama, is the state's oldest continuously operating state park.
Alabama, a southern state, was at the center of many important events in the civil rights movement during the 1950s and 1960s.
The other "Forever" stamp on the right is part of a series (5 stamps) issued on August 7, 2018, devoted to the Art of Magic, an art form that holds a special place in American history.
This stamp was printed to present an effect that mimics a classic illusion: by rotating this stamp, you can see a white rabbit popping out of a black top hat!
The two additional stamps (5c), issued on February 24, 2017 (initial issue in 2016), represent bunches of Pinot Noir grapes, a grape variety originally from Burgundy, France and grown today in the USA (California, New York, Oregon ...).
