Timbre "Le Petit Prince - 80 ans de la publication" sur FDC de Suisse
L'ouvrage "Le Petit Prince", publié en 1943 (aux États-Unis) par l'écrivain et célèbre
aviateur français Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1900-1944), est parfois
considéré comme l'un des livres les plus connus dans le monde, avec la
Bible et "Le Capital" de Karl Marx...
Sous l'apparence d'un conte pour enfants, "Le Petit Prince" se veut un
conte poétique et philosophique avec une écriture simple et dépouillée
mettant l'accent sur le comportement absurde des adultes.
Lorsque le Petit Prince quitte son astéroïde B 612, il découvre sur
terre la solitude et l'absurdité de l'existence et raconte son histoire à
un aviateur qui, à la suite d'une panne de moteur, a dû se poser en
catastrophe dans le désert du Sahara...
"S'il vous plaît… dessine-moi un mouton !", "On ne voit bien qu'avec le
cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux" sont quelques-unes des
phrases extraites de ce livre, faisant partie aujourd'hui de notre
imaginaire collectif.

Under the semblance of a children's
fairy tale, "The Little Prince" is intended as a poetic and
philosophical tale with a simple writing emphasizing the absurd behavior
of adults.
When the Little Prince leaves his
asteroid B-612, he discovers on Earth the loneliness and absurdity of
life and tells his story to an aviator who, following an engine failure,
had to crash-land in the Sahara Desert...
If you please... draw me a sheep !", "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye" are some of the sentences taken from this book, today being part of our collective imagination.
Curieusement, peu d'administrations postales ont déjà émis dans le passé
des timbres consacrés à ce personnage du Petit Prince : Israël,
Croatie, Nouvelle-Calédonie, Pologne, Guinée équatoriale, Allemagne, Serbie ou France.
Le 9 mai 2023,
la poste suisse a mis en circulation un nouveau timbre (1,10 CHF, conception : Euro Lizenzen), en version autocollante (timbre avec une découpe originale en forme de livre) à
l'occasion du 80ème anniversaire de la publication du Petit Prince, le livre le plus traduit au monde avec plus de 500 traductions officielles !
Ce timbre a été utilisé sur cette lettre envoyée le Premier Jour d'émission depuis Genève (TAD spécial de l'aéroport, plutôt rare). Merci beaucoup Jürgen !
Ce timbre représente la couverture du livre avec son héros, assis sur la Lune, qui contemple le ciel de cet air songeur qui le caractérise.
Curiously, few postal administrations
have issued in the past some stamps dedicated to this character of the
Little Prince: Israel, Croatia, New Caledonia, Poland, Equatorial
Guinea, Germany, Serbia or France.
On May 9, 2023, the Swiss Post put into circulation a new stamp (1.10 CHF, design: Euro Lizenzen), in self-adhesive version (stamp with an original book-shaped cutout) on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the publication of the Little Prince, the most translated book in the world with more than 500 official translations!
This stamp was used on this cover sent on the First Day of issue from Geneva (special postmark from the airport, rather rare). Thank you very much Jürgen!
This stamp shows the book cover featuring our little hero, seated on the Moon, looking thoughtfully to the sky, as he does so often.
