"Rural Heritage" stamps on cover from Falkland Islands

Timbres "Patrimoine rural" sur lettre des îles Falkland 

Très heureux de partager avec vous cette intéressante lettre des îles Falkland, cet archipel, territoire britannique d'outre-mer, situé dans l'océan Atlantique Sud, revendiqué par l'Argentine qui en conteste la souveraineté au Royaume-Uni, et qui a été l'enjeu d'un affrontement militaire, la guerre des Malouines, entre les deux pays en 1982 (victoire du Royaume-Uni, 650 morts côté argentin, 260 morts côté britannique).
Un grand merci à l'expéditeur de cette lettre (?) envoyée le 25 août 2025 depuis Port Stanley, la capitale de l'archipel, sur la Malouine orientale, une des 2 îles principales.
Après avoir été contrôlées par la France et l'Espagne, les îles Falkland ou îles Malouines (3200 habitants) deviennent un territoire britannique à partir de 1833. 
Les premiers timbres (profil de la reine Victoria) sont émis en 1878 et ces dernières années, un nombre très limité de timbres est mis en circulation, ayant souvent pour thème la famille royale, le patrimoine local, la faune et la flore de ce territoire.
Very pleased to share with you this interesting cover from the Falkland Islands, an archipelago, a British Overseas Territory located in the South Atlantic Ocean. It is claimed by Argentina, which disputes the sovereignty of the United Kingdom. It was the subject of a military confrontation, the Falklands War, between the two countries in 1982 (a British victory, with 650 deaths on the Argentine side and 260 deaths on the British side).
Many thanks to the sender of this letter (?), sent on August 25, 2025, from Port Stanley, the capital of the archipelago, on East Falkland, one of the two main islands.
After being controlled by France and Spain, the Falkland Islands (population 3,200) became a British territory in 1833
 The first stamps (featuring a profile of Queen Victoria) were issued in 1878, and in recent years, a very limited number of stamps have been issued, often featuring themes related to the royal family, local heritage, and the territory's flora and fauna.  

Les 3 timbres ci-dessus font partie d'une jolie série (13 timbres, conception : Bee Design à partir de photographies de Joan & Terry Spruce / Natalie & Colin Smith) émise le 10 octobre 2022, consacrée au patrimoine rural de l'archipel.
Le premier timbre (2p) représente l'épave du "St Mary" à Whale Point, un cargo américain à voile qui est venu s'échouer en août 1890, alors qu'il effectuait son voyage inaugural depuis le Maine aux États-Unis. A l'approche du Cap Horn, il entra en collision avec un autre navire, "le Magellan", le forçant à faire route vers les Malouines et Stanley pour des réparations. Il heurta le récif face à Kelp Lagoon, où il resta en miettes.
Le timbre au centre (5p) représente une ancienne maison en pierre, "Hillside House", en ruine à proximité d'une maison en bois plus moderne (vers 1940). L'emplacement fut choisi par le berger Jason Phillips et la maison fut construite par la Falkland Islands Company en 1868.
Le 3ème timbre (77p) montre une caravane agricole, une sorte de cabane plutôt lourde (généralement à ossature bois, revêtues de tôle plate et couvertes de tôle ondulée), construite sur des patins de traîneau ou, plus rarement, sur roues. Elles pouvaient être tractées autour des fermes pour les travaux de clôture ou laissées sur place, par exemple près des tourbières ou des enclos à moutons, où les ouvriers agricoles devaient séjourner sur place pendant de courtes périodes.
The three stamps above are part of a lovely set (13 stamps, design: Bee Design from photographs by Joan & Terry Spruce / Natalie & Colin Smith) issued on October 10, 2022, dedicated to the rural heritage of the archipelago.
The first stamp (2p) depicts the wreck of the "St Mary" at Whale Point, an American sailing freighter that ran aground in August 1890, while on its maiden voyage from Maine in the United States. Approaching Cape Horn, it collided with another ship, the "Magellan," forcing it to sail to the Falklands and Stanley for repairs. It struck the reef off Kelp Lagoon, where it remained in ruins.
The center stamp (5p) depicts an old stone house, "Hillside House," in ruins near a more modern wooden house (circa 1940). The site was chosen by shepherd Jason Phillips, and the house was built by the Falkland Islands Company in 1868.
The third stamp (77p) shows a farm caravan, a rather heavy hut-like structure (usually timber-framed, clad in flat iron and roofed with corrugated iron), built on sledge runners or, more rarely, on wheels. They could be towed around farms for fencing work or left on site, for example, near bogs or sheep pens, where farmhands would stay for short periods.
