Timbre Sepac 2025 (Architecture) sur FDC de Monaco
Après les principales attractions touristiques en 2024, le thème choisi pour les émissions Sepac en 2025 est intitulé "Architecture"
et, sauf erreur, 10 des 12 administrations postales européennes (toutes
sauf l'île de Man et la Cité du Vatican) membres de l'association Sepac
(Small European Postal Administration Cooperation) ont déjà émis un timbre Sepac cette année.
Depuis 2007 (thème des
paysages), des timbres sur un thème commun sont
émis par certains membres et une élection du plus beau timbre Sepac est
organisée depuis 2010.
La Principauté de Monaco participe à ces émissions Sepac depuis
2007 et a émis, le 9 juillet 2025, son 16ème timbre Sepac illustrant ce thème de l'architecture et en particulier la cathédrale de Monaco.
Ce timbre (2,10€, tirage : 40000, conception : Thierry Mordant), incluant le logo sepac en haut à droite et imprimé par Philaposte en feuillet de 10
timbres, figure sur le FDC officiel ci-dessous, avec illustration montrant l'opéra de Monte-Carlo.
Following the main tourist attractions in 2024, the theme chosen for the Sepac stamps in 2025 is entitled "Architecture".
Unless I am mistaken, 10 of the 12 European postal administrations (all
except the Isle of Man and Vatican City) that are members of the Sepac (Small European Postal Administration Cooperation) association have already issued a Sepac stamp this year.
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps
having a common theme are issued by some members and an election for the
most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in
2010.
The Principality of Monaco has participated in these Sepac issues since 2007 and, on July 9, 2025, issued its 16th Sepac stamp illustrating this architectural theme, particularly the Monaco Cathedral.
This stamp (€2.10, print run: 40,000, design: Thierry Mordant), featuring the Sepac logo in the upper right corner and printed by Philaposte in a sheetlet of 10 stamps, is present on the official FDC below, with an illustration showing the Monte-Carlo Opera House.
Ce timbre commémore plus précisément le 150ème anniversaire de la pose de la première pierre de la cathédrale Notre-Dame-Immaculée de Monaco, construite dans un style romano-byzantin entre 1875 et 1903 (architecte : Charles Lenormand) et consacrée en 1911.
Depuis plus d'un siècle, cet édifice est un élément important de l'identité monégasque, symbole d'un attachement fort aux racines et à la foi chrétienne du pays (le catholicisme est religion d'état).
Cette cathédrale (72 mètres de long, 22 mètres de large, 18 mètres de haut) à été construite en pierres blanches de La Turbie, sous le règne du prince Charles III, à l'emplacement de l'ancienne église Saint-Nicolas.
Charles III, comme ses successeurs (dont Albert I et Rainier III, et son épouse Grace Kelly), est inhumé dans cette cathédrale.
This stamp specifically commemorates the 150th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of the Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate of Monaco, built in the Romano-Byzantine style between 1875 and 1903 (architect: Charles Lenormand) and consecrated in 1911.
For over a century, this building has been an important element of Monegasque identity, symbolizing a strong attachment to the country's roots and Christian faith (Catholicism is the state religion).
This cathedral (72 meters long, 22 meters wide, and 18 meters high) was built of white stone from La Turbie during the reign of Prince Charles III, on the site of the former Church of Saint Nicholas.
Charles III, like his successors (including Albert I and Rainier III, and his wife Grace Kelly), is buried in this cathedral.
