2025 marque le 550ème anniversaire de la naissance d'un des plus grands
artistes de tous les temps, le sculpteur, peintre, architecte, poète et
urbaniste florentin de la Haute Renaissance, Michelangelo di Lodovico
Buonarroti Simoni, dit Michel-Ange (1475-1564).
Les capacités
créatives et la maîtrise de Michel-Ange dans différents domaines
artistiques le définissent comme un archétype de l'homme de la
Renaissance, aux côtés de son rival et contemporain, Léonard de Vinci.
Certaines
de ses œuvres sont considérées comme des chefs-d'œuvre de la
Renaissance : David (1504), la Pietà (1499), exposée dans une chapelle
latérale de la basilique Saint-Pierre au Vatican, Moïse (1515) du
tombeau de Jules II dans la basilique Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens de Rome, le
plafond de la chapelle Sixtine, peint entre 1508 et 1512, Le Jugement
dernier, exécuté entre 1536 et 1541 sur le mur de l'autel de cette
chapelle...
En tant qu'architecte, il conçoit en particulier le dôme de la basilique Saint-Pierre au Vatican en 1508.

of all time, the Florentine sculptor, painter, architect, poet, and
urban planner of the High Renaissance, Michelangelo di Lodovico
Buonarroti Simoni, known as Michelangelo (1475-1564).
Michelangelo's
creative abilities and mastery in various artistic fields define him as
an archetypal Renaissance man, alongside his rival and contemporary,
Leonardo da Vinci.
Some of his works are considered Renaissance
masterpieces: David (1504), the Pietà (1499), exhibited in a side chapel
of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, Moses (1515) from the tomb of
Julius II in the St. Peter in Chains Basilica in Rome, the ceiling of
the Sistine Chapel, painted between 1508 and 1512, and The Last
Judgment, executed between 1536 and 1541 on the altar wall of this
chapel.
As an architect, he notably designed the dome of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican in 1508.

poste de Bosnie-Herzégovine (HP Mostar) a mis en circulation, le 6 mars
2025, un timbre (1,30 BAM, tirage : 5000, conception
: Vijeko Lučić) sur ce thème, conçu à partir d'un portrait de Michel-Ange par Daniele da Volterra (vers 1545, Metropolitan Museum of Art de New York).
Ce timbre a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 19 mai 2025 depuis la ville
de Kiseljak (nord-est de Sarajevo). Merci beaucoup Miro !
Miro a utilisé un autre timbre (1,10 BAM, conception : Ernesto Markota) faisant partie d'une série (2 timbres) émise le 1er décembre 2022, consacrée aux festivités de Noël et de Nouvel An, en particulier à la tradition de Saint-Nicolas distribuant des cadeaux aux enfants.
Several postal administrations have already issued stamps in 2025 dedicated to the 550th anniversary of Michelangelo's birth: Romania, Italy, the Order of Malta, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sarajevo and HP Mostar), Vietnam, Vatican City, and Bulgaria.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina Post (HP Mostar) issued a stamp (1.30 BAM, print run: 5,000, design: Vijeko Lučić) on this theme on March 6, 2025, based on a portrait of Michelangelo by Daniele da Volterra (circa 1545, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York).
This stamp was used on the above cover sent on May 19, 2025, from the city of Kiseljak (northeast of Sarajevo). Thank you very much, Miro!
Miro used another stamp (1.10 BAM, design: Ernesto Markota) that is part of a series (2 stamps) issued on December 1, 2022, dedicated to Christmas and New Year festivities, in particular the tradition of Saint Nicholas distributing gifts to children.
