Khatuna m'a envoyé une nouvelle lettre de Géorgie très colorée, et je ne parle pas que de la couleur rose de l'enveloppe ! Merci beaucoup Khatuna pour cette lettre postée le 15 août 2008 de Tbilissi :-)
La poste géorgienne a célébré de façon très originale les 100 de la FIFA en 2004 (le 5 novembre précisément) en émettant une série de 4 timbres représentant des caricatures (oeuvres de P. Natsvlishvili) des meilleurs joueurs de football de l'histoire de la Géorgie !
Ces 4 timbres avec un fond vert figurent en haut de cette lettre ci-dessous. En plus du logo officiel des 100 ans de la FIFA en bas de chaque timbre, on trouve un médaillon jaune semblant représenter un portrait du "roi" Pelé...

Georgian Post has celebrated in a very original way the 100 years of FIFA in 2004 (November 5 exactly) by issuing a series of four stamps representing caricatures (works by P. Natsvlishvili) of the best Georgian footbal players of history !
These four stamps with a green background appear at the top of this cover below. In addition to the official logo of the FIFA Centennial at the bottom of each stamp, there is also a yellow medallion seeming to represent a portrait of the "king" Pelé...
Les joueurs représentés de gauche à droite :-David Kipiani (1951-2001) considéré comme le meilleur milieu de terrain géorgien de l'histoire et aussi l'un des plus grands entraîneurs. Il joua principalement pour le Dinamo Tbilissi et fut sélectionné 19 fois en équipe d'URSS. Il entraînera plusieurs clubs à partir de 1984 mais aussi l'équipe nationale de Géorgie en 1997, 2000 et 2001. La coupe de Géorgie porte son nom.
-Mikheil Meskhi (1937-1991), surnommé le Garrincha géorgien, en référence au grand joueur brésilien. Il évoluait sur le flanc gauche en équipe d'URSS (35 sélections), il faisait partie de l'équipe qui remporta le championnat d'Europe en 1960. En 1998, il fut désigné le meilleur joueur géorgien de football de l'histoire ! Le 2ème stade du pays, à Tbilissi, porte son nom.
-Avtandil Gogoberidze (1922-1980) footballeur originaire d'Abkhazie, il joua principalement au Dinamo Tbilissi et fut sélectionné 3 fois en équipe d'URSS.
-Boris Paichadze (1915-1990) fut un grand attaquant qui évolua principalement au Dinamo Tbilissi. Depuis 1995, le stade national à Tbilissi, le plus grand du pays, porte son nom.
The players represented from left to right :
-David Kipiani (1951-2001) regarded as the best midfielder in Georgian history and also one of the greatest manager. He played mainly for Dinamo Tbilisi and appeared 19 times in the USSR team. He will manage several clubs from 1984 but also the Georgia national team in 1997, 2000 and 2001. The Georgian Football Cup was named after him.
-Mikheil Meskhi (1937-1991), nicknamed the "Georgian Garrincha", referring to the great Brazilian player. he evolved on the left flank of the USSR team (35 caps), he was part of the team that won the European Championship in 1960. In 1998, he was named the best Georgian football player of history ! The second largest stadium of the country, in Tbilisi, is named after him.
-Avtandil Gogoberidze (1922-1980), football player from Abkhazia, he played mainly for Dinamo Tbilisi and was selected 3 times in the USSR team.
-Boris Paichadze (1915-1990) was a great striker who played mainly for Dinamo Tbilisi. Since 1995, the National Stadium in Tbilisi, the largest in the country, bears his name.
Les 2 timbres à gauche ont été émis le 29 décembre 2005 et célèbrent 2 célèbres danseurs étoile des ballets géorgiens, Vakhtang Chabukiani (1910-1992) et Vera Tsignadze (née en 1926).
Chabukiani, danseur, chorégraphe et professeur est considéré comme l'un de ceux ayant le plus influencé la danse de ballet masculine dans l'histoire. Il est représenté sur le timbre du haut dans son plus grand rôle, Othello. Vera Tsignadze, qui interpréta le rôle de Desdemona également dans Othello, est représentée sur l'autre timbre dans son rôle de Tamara dans l'opéra "Le Démon". A noter que sur la photo originale ayant inspiré ce timbre, Chabukiani figure derrière la danseuse mais la poste géorgienne a choisi de purement le faire disparaître !!
Enfin, j'ai déjà évoqué le dernier timbre sur cette lettre représentant le mont Ushba. Ce timbre est mystérieux car il ne fait pas partie de la série initiale de 3 timbres émis le 14 mars 2008, dans laquelle un des timbres représentait déjà le mont Ushba mais avec une autre image ??
De plus, ce timbre comporte dans sa partie basse une zone en surimpression...
The two stamps on the left were issued on December 29, 2005 and celebrate two famous star dancers of the Georgian Ballet, Vakhtang Chabukiani (1910-1992) and Vera Tsignadze (born 1926).
Chabukiani, dancer, choreographer and teacher is considered as one of those who influenced the most the male dance ballet in history. He is represented on the stamp at the top in his greatest role, Othello. Vera Tsignadze, who played the role of Desdemona also in Othello, is represented on the other stamp in her great role as Tamara in the "Demon" opera. It should be noted that on the original photograph that inspired this stamp, Chabukiani figured behind Tsignadze but the Georgian Post has chosen purely to erase him !!
Finally, I've already mentioned the last stamp on this letter representing Mount Ushba. This stamp is mysterious because it is not part of the original set of three stamps issued on March 14, 2008, in which one of the stamps is already showing Mont Ushba but with a different picture ??
In addition, this stamp was overprinted in its lower part...
