Très heureux de vous présenter ma toute 1ère lettre d'Ouzbékistan !
Merci beaucoup Marat pour cet intéressant FDC du 08/08/08 consacré aux 29ème jeux olympiques de Pékin (Pekin en Ouzbek) 2008 :-)
L'Ouzbékistan (O'zbekiston en ouzbek), indépendant depuis 1991, est situé en Asie centrale et a la particularité d'être l'un des 2 pays doublement enclavé dans le monde. Je vous laisse trouver le 2ème...
A noter l'inhabituelle oblitération "1er jour" de couleur bleue apposé à Tashkent (Toshkent en ouzbek), la capitale du pays.
Mais pourquoi donc la poste ouzbek a-t-elle apposé cet autre cachet classique, également en date du 08/08/08 ???

Uzbekistan (O'zbekiston in Uzbek), independent since 1991, is located in Central Asia and has the particularity of being one of the two double-landlocked countries in the world. Which is the other country...
Note the unusual blue FDC cancellation affixed in Tashkent (Toshkent in Uzbek), the country's capital.
But why did the Uzbek Post affixe this other classic postmark, also dated 08/08/08 ???

Venons-en aux timbres maintenant.
Ils font partie d'une série de 4 timbres représentant 4 épreuves sportives différentes parmi les 15 dans lesquelles étaient inscrits les 58 athlètes de la délégation d'Ouzbékistan.
Les 2 timbres ci-dessus représentent le judo (150 sum) et la boxe (200 sum), les 2 autres de la série sont consacrés à l'athlétisme et à la gymnastique rythmique.
Ces 4 timbres semblent représenter de vrais athlètes, peut-être les reconnaîtrez-vous ?
Bonne pioche pour le judo puisque parmi les 6 médailles remportées par l'Ouzbékistan à Pékin, 2 l'ont été dans cette discipline ! Les 4 autres médailles ont été remportées en lutte, gymnastique artistique et trampoline (médaille de bronze pour Ekaterina Khilko, la 1ère femme ouzbek à remporter une médaille olympique aux jeux olympiques d'été depuis l'indépendance !).
Pour terminer, sur chaque timbre, ainsi que sur l'oblitération spéciale, figure le logo du comité olympique national Ouzbek dont le symbole est le Khumo, l'oiseau sacré légendaire symbole de bonheur et de générosité... Cet oiseau figure également sur les armoiries du pays.
Let's speak about the stamps now.
They are part of a set of four stamps representing four different sporting events among the 15 in which were competed the 58 athletes of the Uzbekistan olympic team.
The two stamps above represent judo (150 sum) and boxing (200 sum), the two others in the series are devoted to athletics and rhythmic gymnastics.
These four stamps seem to represent real athletes, maybe you'll recognize them ?
Good draw for judo because among the 6 medals won by Uzbekistan in Beijing, two medals were won in this sport ! The four other medals were won in wrestling, artistic gymnastics and trampoline (bronze medal for Ekaterina Khilko, the first Uzbek woman to win an Olympic medal in summer Olympic Games since independence).
Finally, on each stamp, and on the special cancellation, is included the logo of the Uzbek National Olympic Committee, whose symbol is the Khumo, the legendary holy bird, symbol of happiness and generosity... This bird also appears on the country's coat of arms.
