Après Belfort en 2016 ou Paris en 2017, la 39ème édition du Salon Philatélique de Printemps avait lieu du 6 au 8 avril 2018 dans la ville de Sorgues (Vaucluse).
Comme de coutume, Sorgues a ainsi eu droit à son timbre (0,95€, tirage : 800000) créé et gravé par Sophie Beaujard, mis en circulation le 9 avril 2018 (vente générale).
Ce joli timbre au format panoramique figure sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessous, avec TAD de Paris (conception : Claude Perchat) du 6 avril 2018. Merci beaucoup Joël !
After Belfort in 2016 or Paris in 2017, the 39th edition of the Salon Philatélique de Printemps ("Spring Stamp Exhibition") was held from April 6 to 8, 2018 in the city of Sorgues (Vaucluse).
As usual, a stamp (€ 0.95, print run: 800,000) was thus devoted to Sorgues, created and engraved by Sophie Beaujard, put into circulation on April 9, 2018 (general sale).

Cette ville de Sorgues est marquée par un patrimoine riche, en particulier un palais papal édifié entre 1317 et 1324 pour Jean XXII, 16 ans avant le palais des papes à Avignon.
Située au confluent de l'Ouvèze et du Rhône, cette ville s'est industrialisée au 19ème siècle avec l'apparition de nombreuses roues à aubes alimentant différentes manufactures (minoteries, moulins à huile, filatures de soie...).
Ces roues figurent sur le timbre à droite ainsi que sur le TAD.
L'hôtel de ville (style néo-classique), inauguré en 1859, est représenté au centre sur ce timbre, avec la fontaine proche à gauche, rénovée en 2014.
Le pont suspendu des arméniers (travée de 157 mètres), inauguré en 1926, est également présent sur ce timbre, dans le fond à droite.
This city of Sorgues is marked by a rich heritage, in particular a papal palace built between 1317 and 1324 for pope John XXII, 16 years before the palace of the popes in Avignon.
Located at the confluence of the Ouvèze and Rhône rivers, this city was industrialized in the 19th century with the appearance of many paddle wheels feeding different factories (flour mills, oil mills, silk spinning...).
These wheels are featured on the stamp to the right as well as on the cancellation.
The city hall (neo-classical style), inaugurated in 1859, is represented in the center on that stamp, with the fountain to the left, renovated in 2014.
The suspension bridge of the Armeniers (span of 157 meters), inaugurated in 1926, is also present on that stamp, in the background on the right.
