À l'occasion du dernier Salon Philatélique d'Automne organisé à Paris du 8 au 11 novembre 2018, l'administration postale des TAAF (Terres Australes et Antarctiques Françaises) a mis en circulation un intéressant bloc-feuillet incluant un timbre au format rond (2,20€).
Ce bloc-feuillet (tirage : 30000) est consacré à l'exposition GAMMA (Grandir l'Art Moderne Méditatif en Antarctique), la première exposition de la France en Antarctique !
Cette exposition d'art moderne (organisée en partenariat avec l'Institut Polaire Français Paul-Émile Victor - IPEV), embarquée à bord du navire L'Astrolabe lors de sa rotation du mois de janvier 2017, a ensuite été installée dans le bâtiment de vie principal de la station Dumont d'Urville en Terre Adélie.
On the occasion of the last "Salon Philatélique d'Automne" held in Paris from November 8 to 11, 2018, the postal administration of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands (TAAF) put into circulation an interesting miniature sheet including a round stamp (€ 2.20).
This miniature sheet (print run: 30,000) is dedicated to the Art Exhibition GAMMA ("Growth of Antarctic Mindful Modern Art" in French), the first exhibition of France in Antarctica!
This modern art exhibition (organized in partnership with the French Polar Institute Paul-Émile Victor - IPEV), embarked aboard the ship L'Astrolabe during its rotation of January 2017, was then installed in the main building of Dumont d'Urville French research station in Terre Adélie.
L'artiste à l'origine de cette exposition est Oïjha (Ann-Isabelle Guyomard de son vrai nom, née en 1981), qui vise ainsi à promouvoir par l'art contemporain les valeurs propres à l'Antarctique : paix, science, protection de l'environnement...
Cette exposition artistique minimaliste était constituée de 7 tableaux dédiés aux femmes et hommes qui œuvrent sur le continent blanc.
Oïjha a créé l'œuvre "Dynamique des 5 districts" reproduite sur ce bloc-feuillet, utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus, envoyée le 17 janvier 2019 depuis l'archipel des Crozet, de la base scientifique permanente Alfred Faure (située sur l'île de la Possession) plus précisément.
Le timbre de ce bloc-feuillet évoque la démarche artistique "Antarctic consciousness" d'Oïjha consistant à appliqué de l'or pur sur de la roche dans son milieu naturel.
Cette œuvre ainsi que certaines parties des marges de ce bloc-feuillet ont été imprimées avec un léger relief et un vernis spécial.

This minimalist artistic exhibition consisted of 7 paintings dedicated to women and men working on the white continent.
Oïjha created the work "Dynamique des 5 districts" reproduced on this miniature sheet, used on the letter above, sent on January 17, 2019 from the archipelago of Crozet, from the permanent scientific base Alfred Faure (located on the Possession Island) more precisely.
The stamp of this miniature sheet evokes Oijha's "Antarctic consciousness" artistic project consisting of applying pure gold to rock in its natural environment.
This artwork as well as some parts of the margins of this miniature sheet were printed with a slight embossment and a special varnish.
