Le 6 mars 2019, la poste tchèque a mis en circulation un très joli timbre, conçu par Adolf Absolon et gravé par Martin Srb, consacré à cet impressionnant ouvrage d'art, le barrage Les Království, situé à 4 kilomètres en amont de Dvůr Králové nad Labem, dans la vallée de l'Elbe.
Un grand merci Bret pour l'envoi de ce FDC officiel (tirage : 3200) concernant ce timbre (tarif permanent "A" pour un envoi domestique jusqu'à 50g - 19 CZK actuellement), avec TAD de Nemojov, une commune située près de ce barrage !
La gravure à gauche sur cette enveloppe représente des méandres de la rivière Elbe dans la région du barrage.
On March 6, 2019, the Czech Post put into circulation a very nice stamp, designed by Adolf Absolon and engraved by Martin Srb, dedicated to this impressive structure, the Les Království Dam, located 4 kilometers upstream from Dvůr Králové nad Labem, in the valley of the Elbe river.
A big thank you Bret for having sent me this official FDC (print run: 3,200) regarding that stamp (permanent tariff "A" for a domestic shipment up to 50g - 19 CZK currently), with cancellations from Nemojov, a town located near this dam!
The engraving on the left on this envelope represents meanders of the Elbe River in the dam area.
Ce barrage de protection contre les inondations et de récupération d'énergie hydroélectrique à l'architecture néo-gothique, ainsi que ses bâtiments auxiliaires, a été construit entre 1910 et 1920 et a été déclaré "monument technique" en 1964 et "monument culturel national" en 2010.
La construction de ce barrage a été décidée suite aux inondations catastrophiques de 1897 même si elle ne sera mise en service qu'en 1909 (sous la supervision de l'ingénieur Josef Plicka).
Le timbre représente une vue d'ensemble de la partie supérieure de ce barrage, incluant 2 portes monumentales, flanquées chacune d'une tour ronde et d'une tour rectangulaire.
This dam for flood protection and hydroelectric energy recovery with neo-Gothic architecture, as well as its auxiliary buildings, was built between 1910 and 1920 and was declared a "technical monument" in 1964 and "national cultural monument" in 2010.
The construction of this dam was decided following the catastrophic floods of 1897 even if it was not put into service until 1909 (under the supervision of the engineer Josef Plicka).
The stamp represents an overview of the upper part of this dam, including two monumental gates, each flanked by a round tower and a rectangular tower.
Ce timbre a été émis en feuille de 50 timbres ainsi que dans un carnet (intérieur ci-dessus, couverture ci-dessous), imprimé à 14000 exemplaires, composé de 8 timbres et 4 vignettes (2 dessins différents).
Ces vignettes représentent respectivement la maison du gardien de barrage, avec son donjon, située sur la rive droite et une tour ronde crénelée située sur la rive gauche.
This stamp was issued in sheet of 50 stamps but also in a booklet (inside above, cover below), printed in 14,000 copies, consisting of 8 stamps and 4 vignettes (2 different drawings).
These vignettes represent respectively the dam keeper's house, with its keep, located on the right bank and a crenellated round tower on the left bank.
