Pour la 5ème fois depuis qu'elle est membre de l'Union européenne (en 1986, en même temps que le Portugal), l'Espagne assume la présidence tournante du Conseil de l'Union européenne entre juillet et décembre 2023.
Pour rappel, la présidence du Conseil européen est tournante et les différents états membres de l'UE assument la présidence du Conseil par alternance semestrielle. Ainsi, pendant un semestre, l'état au pouvoir préside les sessions à tous les niveaux du Conseil, contribuant ainsi à garantir la continuité du travail de l'UE au sein de cette institution. 
Le 3 juillet 2023, la poste espagnole Correos a mis en circulation un bloc-feuillet consacré à la présidence espagnole du Conseil de l'Union européenne ("Presidencia española Consejo de la Unión Europea"). 
For the 5th time since becoming a member of the European Union (in 1986, at the same time as Portugal), Spain assumes the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union between July and December 2023.
As a reminder, the presidency of the European Council is rotating and the different EU member states assume the presidency of the Council alternately every six months. Thus, for a semester, the ruling state chairs sessions at all levels of the Council, thus helping to guarantee the continuity of the EU's work within this institution.
On July 3, 2023, the Spanish Post Correos put into circulation a souvenir sheet dedicated to the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union ("Presidencia española Consejo de la Unión Europea").

Ce bloc-feuillet numéroté (2€, tirage : 90000) a été utilisé sur cette lettre envoyée en août 2023 depuis Madrid (sans oblitération malheureusement). Merci beaucoup Luis !
Ce bloc-feuillet a été conçu à partir de l'identité visuelle de cette présidence espagnole, avec le E de "UE23" arborant les couleurs du drapeau national, sur fond bleu et blanc.
L'Espagne croit fermement en une Europe globale, autonome, numérique et écologique, qui associe l'innovation à la justice sociale, et c'est sur quoi la présidence espagnole du Conseil de l'Union européenne travaille, sous la devise "L'Europe, plus proche".
Parmi les priorités de cette présidence : réindustrialiser l'Union Européenne et garantir son autonomie stratégique ouverte, faire progresser la transition écologique et l'adaptation environnementale, promouvoir une plus grande justice sociale et économique et renforcer l'unité européenne.

This souvenir sheet was designed based on the visual identity of this Spanish presidency, with the E of "UE23" displaying the colors of the national flag, on a blue and white background.
Spain firmly believes in a global, autonomous, digital and ecological Europe, which combines innovation with social justice, and this is what the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union is working on, under the motto "Europe, closer".
Among the priorities of this presidency: reindustrializing the European Union and guaranteeing its open strategic autonomy, advancing in the green transition and the environmental adaptation, promoting greater social and economic justice and strengthening European unity.
