Le 8 août 1967 à Bangkok, 5 pays (Indonésie, Malaisie, Philippines, Singapour, Thaïlande) fondaient l'Association des Nations de l'Asie du Sud-Est (ASEAN), une organisation politique, économique et culturelle ayant pour objectif de faire barrage aux mouvements communistes, de développer la croissance et le développement et d'assurer la stabilité dans la région, dans un contexte de guerre froide.
L'ASEAN est aujourd'hui composée de 10 pays membres, après les adhésions de Brunei Darussalam en 1984, du Vietnam en 1995, du Laos en 1997, du Myanmar en 1997 et du Cambodge en 1999, un ensemble de 625 millions d'habitants (9% de la population mondiale) et la 7ème puissance économique mondiale.
En 2007, une première émission commune (10 timbres différents) consacrée à des édifices emblématiques de chaque pays, avait été mise en circulation pour célébrer le 40ème anniversaire de l'ASEAN.
On August 8, 1967 in Bangkok, five countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand) founded the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), a political, economic and cultural organization whose principal aims include accelerating economic growth, social progress, and sociocultural evolution among its members, alongside the protection of regional stability, in the context of the Cold War.
ASEAN is today composed of 10 member countries, after the accession of Brunei Darussalam in 1984, Vietnam in 1995, Laos in 1997, Myanmar in 1997 and Cambodia in 1999, an entity of 625 million inhabitants (9% of the world's population) and the 7th largest economy in the world. 
In 2007, a first joint issue (10 different stamps) dedicated to emblematic buildings in each country was put into circulation to celebrate the 40th anniversary of ASEAN.

La dernière émission commune impliquant les 10 pays membres de l'ASEAN datait de 2019 et avait pour thème les costumes traditionnels. Depuis 2017, le logo "ASEAN Post" est présent sur ces timbres communs.
Le 8 août 2024, en référence à la date de création de l'ASEAN (57ème anniversaire), une nouvelle émission commune "ASEAN Post" a été mise en circulation, illustrant la thématique des bureaux de poste principaux de chacun des 10 pays.
L'administration postale du Vietnam a émis ce jour-là un joli timbre consacré au bureau de poste principal de Hô Chi Minh-Ville. 
Ce timbre (4000 VND), conçu par Nguyen Du, a été utilisé en 5 exemplaires sur la lettre ci-dessus avec TAD Premier Jour d'Hanoi. Merci beaucoup Long !
Cet édifice a été construit (architecte : Auguste-Henri Vildieu) entre 1886 et 1891 par l'administration des Postes françaises, à l'époque de l'Indochine française, dans un style occidental combiné à une décoration orientale. La charpente métallique fut conçue par Gustave Eiffel.
En plus de sa fonction de lieu de télécommunications et de transactions postales, le bâtiment est également un point culminant culturel de la ville, attirant un grand nombre de touristes nationaux et étrangers. La structure globale a une couleur jaune, repeinte en 2015, qui est la couleur d'origine du bâtiment et aussi la couleur de la poste vietnamienne.
The last joint issue involving the 10 ASEAN member countries was in 2019 and had the theme of traditional costumes. Since 2017, the "ASEAN Post" logo has been present on these joint stamps.
On August 8, 2024, in reference to the date of the creation of ASEAN (57th anniversary), a new "ASEAN Post" joint issue was put into circulation, illustrating the theme of the general post offices of each of the 10 countries.
On that day, the Vietnam Postal Administration issued a beautiful stamp dedicated to the Ho Chi Minh City Post Office building.
This stamp (4000 VND), designed by Nguyen Du, was used in 5 copies on the cover above with First Day cancellations from Hanoi. Thank you very much Long!
This building was built (architect: Auguste-Henri Vildieu) between 1886 and 1891 by the French Postal Administration, during the French Indochina era, in a Western style combined with oriental decoration. The metal frame was designed by Gustave Eiffel.
In addition to its function as a place for telecommunications and postal transactions, the building is also a cultural highlight of the city, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. The overall structure has a yellow color, repainted in 2015, which is the original color of the building and also the color of the Vietnamese Post.
