Preserve the Polar Regions and Glaciers - Part XVIII

Dans le cadre de la campagne philatélique internationale pour la protection des régions polaires et des glaciers ("Zaštita polarnih područja i ledenjaka" en croate), la poste croate a émis le 27 mars 2009 un bloc-feuillet constitué de deux timbres à 5 kn (tirage total : 30000 exemplaires).
Ce joli bloc figure sur la lettre ci-dessous postée le 27 avril 2009 de Rijeka.

As part of the International Philatelic Campaign for the Protection of the Polar Regions and Glaciers ("Zaštita polarnih područja i ledenjaka" in Croatian), the Croatian Post has issued on 27th of March 2009, a souvenir sheet consisting of two 5.00 kn stamps (total print run : 30,000 copies).
This nice sheet is included on the cover below mailed on 27th of April 2009 from Rijeka.

Contrairement à beaucoup d'autres, la "Hrvatska Pošta" n'a pas choisi de représenter d'espèces animales, dont l'habitat est menacé, sur ce bloc...
La fonte des glaces, sous l'effet du réchauffement climatique, est bien sûr évoquée avec cet étrange et menaçant soleil noir (l'imprimeur croate Zrinski a appliqué une couche de vernis sur ce soleil...) sur le timbre de gauche.
L'emblème officiel de cette campagne figure (en relief !) sur l'autre timbre.
Sur son site internet, la poste croate pose une question intéressante : que pouvons-nous faire, en tant qu'individus, pour la protection des zones polaires, particulièrement menacées par le changement climatique, en habitant dans un petit pays si loin des pôles ?
Réponse : penser développement durable, économies d'énergie, réduction de notre empreinte "carbone" pour émettre moins de gaz à effet de serre... Bien sûr !
Contrary to many other postal administrations, the "Hrvatska Pošta" has not chosen to depict any animal species whose habitat is threatened, on this sheet...
Melting ice under the effect of global warming, is of course raised with this strange and threatening black sun (the Croatian printer "Zrinski" applied a varnish layer on the sun...) on the left stamp.
The official insignia of this international campaign is included (embossed !) on the other stamp.
On its website, the Croatian Post raises an interesting question : what can we do as individuals to protect the polar regions, particularly threatened by climate change, living in a small country so far from the poles ?
Answer : to think "sustainable development", save and more efficiently use the energy, reduce our "imprint" in the emission of glasshouse gases... Of course !
