"S'biba festival" stamps on FDC from Algeria

The inhabitants of the town of Djanet, in the wilaya of Illizi (the main oasis and city in the south-east of the Algerian Sahara), celebrate each year the S'biba (or Sebeïba or Sebiba), a festival originating from the ancient history of the war waged by the two main Tuareg tribes of the Tassili n'Ajjer mountain range and the pact of peace that they signed nearly 3,000 years ago ...
The ritual and ceremonies of S'biba are practiced over ten days by these two communities living in Djanet during the first month of the Muslim lunar calendar (moharram), during the Ashura.
On September 30, 2018 (general sale), the Algerian Post put into circulation a nice series of two se-tenant stamps (25 Dinars each, design: Zakaria Morsli) dedicated to this celebration of S'biba.
Thank you very much Zine for this official FDC about this series, with postmarks of September 27, 2018, sent from the city of Jijel!

Algerian stamps include, since 2017, mentions in Arabic, Berber (Tamazight), the two official languages according to the constitution, and French (or English). This is also the case on the First Day cancellation above, without indication of a specific city (only the mention "Algeria Post-Philately") and recalling that this issue is the 19th this year.
Under the title "Ritual and ceremonies of Sebeïba in the oasis of Djanet", this festival has been inscribed since 2014 in the intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO.
Fighting exhibitions reconstituting the last battle following which the pact of peace was signed, are performed in a place called "loghya" on this occasion to the rhythm of women's songs to encourage warriors.
The Sebeïba ritual and ceremonies are an important marker of cultural identity for Tuareg people living in the Algerian Sahara and they reinforce social cohesion, symbolically warding off potential violence between rival communities by simulating and transposing it to the realm of artistic competition ...
