Le 5 septembre 2018, la poste tchèque a mis en circulation un 2ème carnet (4 x 2 timbres) intitulé "Le Monde sur les Rails" ("Svět na kolejích" en tchèque) à travers 2 nouveaux timbres autocollants, conçus par Petr Ptáček, illustrant une ancienne locomotive à vapeur "The Three Hundred and Sixty-Five" ("La Trois-cent-soixante-cinq") et une locomotive "The Silver Arrow" ("La Flèche d'argent").
Ces 2 timbres (tarif permanent "A" pour un envoi domestique jusqu'à 50g - 19 CZK actuellement) figurent en 2 exemplaires sur la jolie lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 1er jour d'émission en recommandé de Prague. Merci beaucoup Bret !
On September 5, 2018, the Czech Post put into circulation a second booklet (4 x 2 stamps) entitled "The World on the Rails" ("Svět na kolejích" in Czech) through 2 new self-adhesive stamps, designed by Petr Ptáček, illustrating an old steam locomotive "The Three Hundred and Sixty-Five" and a motor coach "The Silver Arrow".
These 2 stamps (permanent rate "A" for a domestic shipment up to 50g - 19 CZK currently) were used in 2 copies on the beautiful letter below sent the first day of issue by registered mail from Prague. Thank you very much Bret!
Bret a complété son affranchissement avec le timbre (17 CZK, vue du château de Prague depuis le Pont Charles), en 2 exemplaires, conçu par Jan Kavan (gravé par Miloš Ondráček), émis le 5 mai 2010 pour annoncer l'exposition "Le château de Prague dans l'art du timbre-poste" organisée à Prague du 12 mai au 1er août 2010.
Le 7ème timbre (38 CZK, gravé par Miloš Ondráček), émis le 8 novembre 2017, fait partie de la série "Œuvres d'art sur timbres-poste" et reproduit une œuvre du peintre Norbert Grund (1717-1767) intitulée "le tentateur" (vers 1760, Galerie Nationale à Prague), à l'occasion du 300ème anniversaire de sa naissance et des 250 ans de sa mort.
Bret completed his postage with the stamp (17 CZK, view of the Prague Castle from Charles Bridge), in 2 copies, designed by Jan Kavan (engraved by Miloš Ondráček), issued on May 5, 2010 to announce the exhibition "Prague Castle in the Art of postage stamp" held in Prague from May 12 to August 1, 2010.
The 7th stamp (38 CZK, engraved by Miloš Ondráček), issued on November 8, 2017, is part of the series "Works of Art on Postage Stamps" and reproduces a work by the painter Norbert Grund (1717-1767) entitled "Tempter "(circa 1760, National Gallery in Prague), on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of his birth and the 250 years of his death.
Bret a eu la gentillesse de m'envoyer les 2 FDCs officiels ci-dessus (tirage : 3500 chacun), avec TAD de Prague (n° du type inscrit sur les 2 locomotives) concernant ces 2 nouveaux timbres.
La locomotive à vapeur "La Trois-cent-soixante-cinq" ("třistapětašedesátka") fait partie des 3 séries (total de 40 machines) construites par la première usine tchèque et morave de Prague entre 1921 et 1923. La locomotive 365.024 reproduite sur ce timbre est inspirée d'une photographie prise dans l'usine en 1923. Elle a été utilisé jusqu'à la fin des années 1960 et fait aujourd'hui partie des collections du musée du chemin de fer tchèque à Lužné u Rakovníka.
Les chemins de fer tchécoslovaques ont été à l'avant-garde de la motorisation des opérations ferroviaires en Europe dans les années 1930. Suite à un concours destiné à concevoir un nouvel autorail, un prototype M 260.001 a été construit par ČKD en mars 1939, surnommé "La flèche d'argent". Après un court essai, le projet a été arrêté. Cette locomotive a été sauvegardée dans les années 1970 puis restaurée et est visible à nouveau sur les rails depuis 2016 !
Bret was kind enough to send me the 2 official FDCs above (print run: 3,500 each), with postmarks from Prague (number of the engine type written on the 2 locomotives) regarding these 2 new stamps.
The steam locomotive "The Three Hundred and Sixty-five" ("třistapětašedesátka") is part of the three series (total of 40 engines) built by the First Czech and Moravian Machine Factory in Prague between 1921 and 1923. The locomotive 365.024 reproduced on the stamp is inspired by a photograph taken in the factory in 1923. It was used until the end of the 1960s and is now part of the collections of the Czech Railway Museum in Lužné u Rakovníka.
Czechoslovak railways were at the forefront of the motorization of railway operations in Europe in the 1930s. Following a competition to design a new motor coach, a prototype M 260.001 was built by ČKD in March 1939, nicknamed "The silver Arrow". After a short test, the project was stopped. This locomotive was saved in the 1970s and restored and is back on the rails since 2016!
Le carnet dans lequel ces 2 timbres ont été émis est inclus dans le document spécial ci-dessus, avec une description (en tchèque) des 2 locomotives et une biographie de Petr Ptáček.
Bret a joint à cet envoi le document numéroté ci-dessous (une véritable œuvre d'art !) reproduisant le dessin original de Petr Ptáček utilisé sur la couverture de ce carnet, montrant les 2 locomotives en hiver près de la gare centrale de Prague.
The booklet in which these 2 stamps were issued is included in the special document above, with a description (in Czech) of the two locomotives and a biography of Petr Ptáček.
Bret has attached to this shipment the other numbered document below (a true work of art!) reproducing the Petr Ptáček's original drawing used on the cover of this booklet, showing the 2 locomotives in winter near the Prague Central Station.
Deux intéressantes cartes maximum (ci-dessous, tirage : 1400 chacune) ont également été émises concernant ces 2 timbres, avec un TAD classique du 1er jour d'émission proposé par le bureau de poste principal (n°1) de Prague.
Two interesting maxicards (below, print run : 1,400 each) have also been issued regarding these two stamps, with a classic hand cancellation of the first day of issue, from the main post office (N°1) in Prague.
