Dans le cadre de la Journée du Timbre ("Tag der Briefmarke"), la Deutsche Post a mis en circulation, le 13 septembre 2018, un intéressant timbre consacré à l'histoire postale du pays, en particulier à des timbres de l'époque de la Confédération de l'Allemagne du Nord ("Norddeutscher Bund"), un état fédéral constitué de 22 états allemands situés au nord de la ligne du Main, qui a existé entre 1867 et 1871 (l'Empire allemand lui a succédé).
Cette Confédération a été créée par le ministre-président de Prusse Otto von Bismarck (1815-1898) à la suite de la guerre austro-prussienne de 1866 et de la dissolution de la Confédération germanique et fut une première étape sur le chemin de l'unification de l'Allemagne en 1871...
Ce timbre (0,70€, tarif pour un envoi standard domestique jusqu'à 20g), conçu par Ursula Lautenschläger, figure sur le joli pli Premier Jour de Bonn (TAD avec cor postal) ci-dessous. Merci beaucoup Jens !
Ce timbre est donc consacré au 150ème anniversaire de l'émission des premiers timbres de cette Confédération de l'Allemagne du Nord, avec mention "Norddeutscher Postbezirk" ("District postal d'Allemagne du Nord").
As part of the Stamp Day ("Tag der Briefmarke"), the Deutsche Post has put into circulation, on September 13, 2018, an interesting stamp devoted to the postal history of the country, especially stamps of the time of the North German Confederation ("Norddeutscher Bund"), a federal state consisting of 22 German states located north of the Main Line, which existed between 1867 and 1871 (the German Empire succeeded it).
This Confederation was created by the Minister-President of Prussia Otto von Bismarck (1815-1898) following the Austro-Prussian War of 1866 and the dissolution of the German Confederation and was a first step on the way to the unification of Germany in 1871 ...
That stamp (€ 0.70, postal rate for a standard domestic shipment up to 20g), designed by Ursula Lautenschläger, is present on the nice First Day Cover from Bonn (postal horn on the postmark) below. Thanks a lot Jens!
That stamp is thus dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the issue of the first stamps of this North German Confederation, with the mention "Norddeutscher Postbezirk" ("North German Postal District").
Deux types de timbres ont en fait été mis en circulation à partir de 1868, afin de prendre en compte les différents systèmes monétaires utilisés par les états de cette Confédération : avec valeur faciale libellée en kreuzer (chiffre imprimé à l'intérieur d'un ovale) pour le district du Sud et avec valeur faciale libellée en groschen (chiffre imprimé à l'intérieur d'un cercle) pour le district du Nord.
Ces timbres (4 exemples sur le timbre ci-dessus) ont d'abord été imprimés en roulette puis en version perforée à partir de 1869. Il furent remplacés le 1er janvier 1872 par les premiers timbres de l'Empire allemand ("Deutsche Reichspost").
A noter que ces timbres "Norddeutscher Postbezirk" ne sont pas les 1ers timbres émis sur le territoire allemand puisque la Bavière a émis ses 1ers timbres en 1849, suivie par de nombreux autres états entre 1850 et 1867.
A noter que la poste ouest-allemande avait déjà émis un timbre en 1968 pour les 100 ans de ces timbres de la Confédération de l'Allemagne du Nord.
Pour atteindre le tarif en vigueur pour un envoi en Europe (0,90€), Jens a également utilisé un des timbres (en 2 exemplaires) de la série courante "fleurs" en cours (débutée en 2005), des fleurs d'éranthe d'hiver - Eranthis hyemalis (0,10€, émis le 8 juin 2017) ici.
Two types of stamps were actually put into circulation from 1868, in order to take into account the different monetary systems used by the states of this Confederation: with a nominal value denominated in kreuzer (figure printed inside an oval) for the Southern District and with a nominal value in groschen (figure printed inside a circle) for the Northern District.
These stamps (4 examples reproduced on the stamp above) were first printed in roulette and in perforated version from 1869. They were replaced on January 1, 1872 by the first stamps of the German Empire ("Deutsche Reichspost").
To note that these "Norddeutscher Postbezirk" stamps are not the first stamps issued on German territory since Bavaria issued its first stamps in 1849, followed by many other states between 1850 and 1867.
To note that the West German Post had already issued a stamp in 1968 for the 100 years of these North German Confederation stamps.
To reach the current rate for a shipment in Europe (€ 0.90), Jens also used one of the stamps (in 2 copies) of the "flowers" definitive series in progress (started in 2005), Eranthis hyemalis flowers (€ 0.10, issued on June 8, 2017) here.
