Serbia-India joint stamp issue (70 Years of Relationships): tribute to Tesla and Vivekananda

On December 8, 1948, only one year after the independence of India, Yugoslavia and India formally established diplomatic relations. The two countries, founding members of the non-aligned movement, have always maintained good relations, even after the break-up of Yugoslavia and the independence of Serbia.
The current relations between India and Serbia (mutual embassies in Belgrade and New Delhi) are all the more good as India refuses to recognize the independence of Kosovo and Serbia supports India to become a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
On September 15, 2018, in the presence of the Vice President of the Republic of India, Venkaiah Naidu, the Serbian Post unveiled in Belgrade the two stamps (design : Boban Savić and Mrs Gulistaan) of its joint issue with India, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Serbian Post put into circulation these 2 stamps (70 Dinars, print run: 50,000 each) in the same numbered sheetlet composed of 4 pairs of stamps and 4 central vignettes + mentions of this joint issue in the margins (in Serbian, English, German and French).
One of the 4 pairs (with 2 vignettes and mentions in French) of this sheetlet was used on the cover above, sent on September 21, 2018 from the city of Sombor (north-west of the country, near the border with Croatia and Hungary). Thank you very much Branislav!
This joint set pays tribute to two great personalities of the two countries, famous throughout the world, Nikola Tesla (1856-1943), Serbo-American physicist inventor of the electric induction motor, considered as a genius in the field of electricity, energy, wireless transmission and magnetism and Svami Vivekananda (1863-1902), philosopher and spiritual master, founder of the Ramakrishna mission, who introduced Hinduism to the western world and inspired the movement for the independence of India.
A portrait of Vivekananda (dating from 1893) is depicted on the stamp with, in the background, the temple built in his honor in 1924 at the place where his body was cremated in Belur (Kolkata), part of the Belur Math Hindu Complex.
It should be noted that these two personalities met several times in the USA at the end of the 19th century and exchanged on the theme of spirituality and sciences.
