"Lübeck Martyrs" stamp on FDC from Germany

Les martyrs de Lübeck sont quatre ecclésiastiques, trois prêtres catholiques, Johannes Prassek (né en 1911), Eduard Müller (né en 1911) et Hermann Lange (né en 1912), et un pasteur luthérien, Karl Friedrich Stellbrink (né en 1894), opposants religieux au nazisme et critiques envers le national-socialisme prôné par Hitler.
Bons amis, ils s'échangent des sermons et des écrits spirituels, et s'opposent au nazisme et à l'antisémitisme.
Ils sont successivement arrêtés en avril, mai et juin 1942 par la Gestapo puis condamnés à mort et exécutés le 10 novembre 1943 (ils ont été guillotinés).
The Lübeck Martyrs are four clergymen, three Catholic priests, Johannes Prassek (born in 1911), Eduard Müller (born in 1911) and Hermann Lange (born in 1912), and a Lutheran pastor, Karl Friedrich Stellbrink (born 1894), religious opponents of Nazism and critical towards Hitler's National Socialism.
Good friends, they exchange sermons and spiritual writings, and oppose Nazism and anti-Semitism.
They were successively arrested in April, May and June 1942 by the Gestapo then sentenced to death and executed on November 10, 1943 (they were guillotined).

75 ans après cette tragédie, la Deutsche Post a mis en circulation le 11 octobre 2018, un timbre (0,70€, conception : Christopher Jung) consacré à ces 4 martyrs de Lübeck ("Lübecker Märtyrer").

J'aime beaucoup ce timbre au graphisme simple et efficace avec le nom des 4 martyrs et ces lettres inscrites en rouge, symbolisant le sang qui coule...
Les trois prêtres catholiques ont été béatifiés à Lübeck (ville hanséatique d'Allemagne du Nord, dans le Land de Schleswig-Holstein) le 25 juin 2011.
Pour atteindre le tarif en vigueur pour un envoi en Europe (0,90€), Jens a également utilisé un des timbres de la série courante "fleurs" en cours (débutée en 2005), des fleurs de jacinthe des bois "Hyacinthoides non-scripta" (0,20€, émis le 8 juin 2017) ici.

The three Catholic priests were beatified in Lübeck (Hanseatic city of North Germany, in the state of Schleswig-Holstein) on June 25, 2011.
