Le 9 juillet 2019, la Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), le 2ème opérateur postal désigné du Kirghizstan, a mis en circulation un très joli bloc-feuillet consacré au 150ème anniversaire de la fondation de la ville de Karakol.
Karakol, la 4ème plus grande ville du pays, est aujourd'hui le centre administratif de la région d'Issyk Koul, située près de la pointe est du lac Issyk Koul, à environ 150 km de la frontière entre le Kirghizistan et la Chine et à 380 km de la capitale, Bichkek.
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir ce splendide FDC officiel (tirage : 200) concernant ce bloc-feuillet, avec TAD de Karakol!
Imprimé en Moldavie par Nova Imprim, ce bloc-feuillet (tirage : 5000) a été conçu par Vitaliu Pogolșa.
On July 9, 2019, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), the 2nd designated postal operator of Kyrgyzstan, put into circulation a very nice souvenir sheet dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the founding of the city of Karakol.
Karakol, the fourth largest city in the country, is today the administrative center of the Issyk-Kul region, located near the eastern tip of Issyk-Kul Lake, about 150 km from the border between Kyrgyzstan and China and 380 km from the capital, Bishkek.
I was lucky to receive this splendid official FDC (print run: 200) regarding this souvenir sheet, with cancellations from Karakol!
Printed in Moldova by Nova Imprim, this souvenir sheet (print run: 5,000) was designed by Vitaliu Pogolşa.
Le blason de cette ville de Karakol est présent sur cette enveloppe, sur le TAD Premier Jour et dans la marge en haut à droite sur ce bloc-feuillet représentant certains des principaux sites et monuments.
Le timbre (250 KGS) représente en particulier à gauche le monument funéraire de Nikolaï Mikhaïlovitch Prjevalski (1939-1888), naturaliste d'origine polonaise qui fut officier de l'armée impériale russe, géographe et explorateur de cette région d'Asie centrale.
Fondée en 1869 par un militaire russe, Karakol fut renommée Prjelvalsk en 1893 par le tsar Alexandre III en son honneur. La ville a retrouvé son nom originel en 1992 après l'indépendance du pays.
L'église orthodoxe de la Sainte-Trinité (1895) et la mosquée des Doungane (1910) et son architecture de pavillon chinois, 2 édifices religieux de la ville construits en bois, sont également présents dans les marges de ce bloc-feuillet.
Le complexe hôtelier de Kapriz Karakol, situé dans la station de ski de Karakol, est également présent en bas à gauche sur ce bloc-feuillet. Cet édifice figurait déjà sur le FDC officiel concernant la série "Le yéti en vacances" émise le 19 mai 2016.
The coat of arms of this city of Karakol is present on this envelope, on the First Day postmark and in the margin on the top right on this souvenir sheet featuring some of the main sites and monuments.
The stamp (250 KGS) represents in particular on the left the funerary monument of Nikolai Mikhailovich Przhevalsky (1939-1888), naturalist of Polish origin who was an officer of the Russian imperial army, geographer and explorer of this region of Central Asia.
Founded in 1869 by a Russian military figure, Karakol was renamed Przhevalsk in 1893 by Tsar Alexander III in his honor. The city regained its original name in 1992 after the independence of the country.
The Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity (1895) and the Dungan Mosque (1910) and its Chinese pavilion architecture, two religious buildings of the city built from wood, are also present in the margins of this souvenir sheet.
The Kapriz Karakol hotel complex, located in the Karakol ski resort, is also present at the bottom left of this souvenir sheet. This building was already featured on the official FDC about the "Yeti on holiday" stamp set issued on May 19, 2016.
