"City of Heroes. Mariupol" stamp on FDC from Ukraine

Timbre "Cité des Héros. Marioupol" sur FDC d'Ukraine

Le 16 mars 2022, un avion russe a largué deux bombes de forte puissance sur le théâtre d'art dramatique régional de Donetsk à Marioupol, où plus d'un millier de civils, dont des femmes et des enfants, se cachaient pour se protéger des nombreux bombardements sur la ville depuis le début de la guerre un mois plus tôt.
Sur la place devant le théâtre, un panneau d'avertissement indiquait "ENFANTS" ("ДЕТИ") en gros caractères. Mais cela n'a pas arrêté les tueurs russes. Suite aux frappes, de nombreuses personnes ont péri sous les décombres du bâtiment. 
Entre 500 et 1200 civils auraient été présents dans ce théâtre avant le bombardement, et entre 300 et 600 morts recensés, les occupants russes ayant rapidement déblayer les décombres.  
A peine 2 mois après le début de cette guerre, près de 90% des infrastructures de la ville de Marioupol étaient détruites. Ce qui reste de la ville et de ses habitants est occupé et russifié.
On March 16, 2022, a Russian plane dropped two high-powered bombs on the Donetsk Regional Drama Theater in Mariupol, where more than a thousand civilians, including women and children, had been hiding from the numerous bombardments on the city since the start of the war a month earlier.
In the square in front of the theater, a warning sign read "CHILDREN" ("ДЕТИ") in large letters. But this didn't stop the Russian killers. Following the strikes, many people died under the rubble of the building.
Between 500 and 1,200 civilians were reportedly present in the theater before the bombing, and between 300 and 600 deaths were recorded, as the Russian occupiers quickly cleared the rubble.
Barely two months after the start of this war, nearly 90% of the city of Mariupol's infrastructure was destroyed. What remains of the city and its inhabitants is today occupied and Russified. 

Pour honorer la mémoire des victimes de cet attentat terroriste et de tous ceux qui ont défendu la ville avec dévouement contre les envahisseurs, Ukrposhta a mis en circulation, le 14 mars 2025, un timbre intitulé "Cité des Héros. Marioupol".
Ce timbre (tarif "M", 40 UAH), conçu par Oleh Shupliak, a été imprimé en France par Cartor Security Printers dans un feuillet composé de 4 timbres (2 paires tête-bêche, tirage : 100000).
Ce timbre est recouvert de particules d'acier produites à l'usine sidérurgique Azovstal, devenue un véritable avant-poste de la ville depuis le début de la guerre, grâce à la technologie de thermographie, utilisée pour la première fois sur un timbre ukrainien.

L'entrée du jardin municipal de Marioupol et un monument non identifié figurent sur ce TAD. A noter sur l'enveloppe cette pancarte d'un manifestant indiquant qu'il fait faire comprendre à "l'animal du Kremlin" que Marioupol appartient à l'Ukraine...
To honor the memory of the victims of this terrorist attack and all those who selflessly defended the city against the invaders, Ukrposhta issued a stamp entitled "City of Heroes. Mariupol" on March 14, 2025.
This stamp (rate "M", UAH 40), designed by Oleh Shupliak, was printed in France by Cartor Security Printers in a sheetlet consisting of four stamps (two head-to-tail pairs, print run: 100,000).
This stamp is covered with steel particles produced at the Azovstal steelworks, which has become a veritable outpost of the city since the beginning of the war, thanks to thermography technology, used for the first time on a Ukrainian stamp.
