TAD et timbres "50 ans du Cirque-Théâtre Roncalli" sur FDC d'Allemagne
Le Cirque Roncalli, renommé en 2018 Cirque-Théâtre Roncalli, est une célèbre compagnie de cirque fondée à Vienne en 1975 par les Autrichiens Bernhard Paul et André Heller.
Caractérisé par une fusion unique d'éléments circassiens traditionnels et théâtraux, le cirque a établi son siège et ses quartiers d'hiver à Cologne, se distinguant par ses spectacles qui mêlent acrobaties, art et poésie.
Le concept de Roncalli se démarque des cirques traditionnels en cherchant à revitaliser l'art circassien, avec un accent sur la beauté esthétique et l'authenticité plutôt que sur l'aspect commercial. Avec l'introduction de technologies telles que les projections holographiques, qui ont remplacé les animaux vivants dans les spectacles, le cirque est également reconnu pour son engagement à promouvoir un divertissement éthique et durable.
Le 20 avril 2026, la Deutsche Post a mis en circulation une impressionnante série de timbres - 2 feuillets de 10 timbres, 2 blocs-feuillets de 4 timbres - consacrée au 50ème anniversaire de la création de ce Cirque-Théâtre Roncalli.
A noter qu'il ne s'agit pas de timbres officiels mais de timbres pré-personnalisés autocollants - avec mention "Deutsche Post" en bas à droite, au lieu de "Deutschland" sur les timbres du programme philatélique.

On April 20, 2026, Deutsche Post released an impressive set of stamps—comprising two sheets of 10 stamps and two souvenir sheets of 4 stamps—dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the founding of Circus-Theater Roncalli.
It should be noted that these are not official stamps but rather pre-personalized self-adhesive stamps, bearing the inscription "Deutsche Post" at the bottom right instead of "Deutschland," as found on stamps from the standard philatelic program.
Deux timbres (0,95€) extraits d'un des 2 feuillets (10 timbres - "Un amour de la nostalgie – L'affiche Casaro 1993", tirage inconnu, prix de vente : 10,45€) ont été utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessus, avec TAD Premier Jour de Cologne. Merci beaucoup Jens !
A noter que Cologne était la seule ville, en dehors de Bonn (avec 5 TADs différents), où cette série a été mise en vente Premier Jour.
Les timbres ci-dessus ont en effet été créés à partir de l'affiche, conçue par l'artiste Renato Casaro dans les années 1990. L'illustration met en scène des extraits du spectacle légendaire "Voyage vers l'Arc-en-ciel", qui a propulsé le Cirque Roncalli sur la scène internationale en 1980. Ce créateur d'affiches de cinéma de renommée mondiale a immortalisé l'atmosphère unique de Roncalli et la troupe d'artistes, mis en scène comme de véritables héros de cinéma.
Le timbre en haut à droite reproduit le logo Roncalli, encadré d'arabesques dorées, avec un ciel étoilé en arrière-plan. Ce logo symbolise l'univers romantique et magique du cirque. Au premier plan, le clown autrichien Fredi Codrelli (1919-2004), partenaire et ami de longue date de Bernhard Paul, alias Zippo.
Ce même clown Fredi Codrelli est représenté sur l'autre timbre. Renato Casaro a su capturer avec une grande précision ses gestes distinctifs et ses expressions faciales classiques. Pour Bernhard Paul, Codrelli était bien plus qu'un partenaire et un ami : il était un mentor qui l'initia à l'art du clown à ses débuts chez Roncalli.

It is worth noting that Cologne was the only city—aside from Bonn (which had five different First Day postmarks)—where this series was released in First Day of Issue.
The stamps above were created based on a poster designed by artist Renato Casaro in the 1990s. The illustration features scenes from the legendary show "Journey to the Rainbow", which propelled Circus Roncalli onto the international stage in 1980. This world-renowned film poster artist captured the unique atmosphere of Roncalli and its troupe of performers, portraying them as true cinematic heroes.
The stamp at the top right reproduces the Roncalli logo, framed by golden arabesques with a starry sky in the background. This logo symbolizes the circus's romantic and magical world. In the foreground is the Austrian clown Fredi Codrelli (1919-2004), a longtime partner and friend of Bernhard Paul, alias Zippo.
This same clown, Fredi Codrelli, appears on the other stamp. Renato Casaro skillfully captured his distinctive gestures and classic facial expressions with great precision. For Bernhard Paul, Codrelli was far more than just a partner and friend; he was a mentor who introduced him to the art of clowning during his early days at Roncalli.
