Le 24 mai 2010, un timbre spécial a été émis par la poste française de la principauté d'Andorre, consacré à Ràdio Andorra. Ce timbre (0,56€), qui représente l'édifice construit en 1939 pour recevoir le premier centre émetteur de Ràdio Andorra qui fonctionna jusqu'en 1981, figure sur le pli spécial ci-dessous posté depuis le dernier Salon du Timbre à Paris (à noter le timbre à date spécial émis pour l'occasion, inspiré du logo de la série française "La France comme j'aime").

Cet émetteur, situé à Encamp, fut donc créé en 1939 sous l'impulsion du français Jacques Trémoulet qui craignait alors l'interdiction de la radio privée sur le territoire français... Le statut particulier de la Principauté d'Andorre permettait ainsi d'échapper à la réglementation française.
On May 24, 2010, a special stamp was issued by the French Post of the Principality of Andorra, devoted to "Ràdio Andorra". This stamp (€ 0.56), featuring the building, dating from 1939, built to receive the first radio transmitter in Andorra, that functioned until 1981, is included on the special cover below posted from the last "Salon du Timbre" in Paris (to note the special postmark issued for this occasion, inspired by the logo of the "La France comme j'aime" French stamp series).

This transmitter, located in Encamp, was therefore established in 1939 under the leadership of Frenchman Jacques Trémoulet who then feared the ban of private radio station on the French territory... The special status of the Principality of Andorra then allowed to escape the French regulations.
La France déclare la guerre à l'Allemagne peu de temps après l'ouverture de cette radio qui interrompra brièvement ses émissions avant de les reprendre en avril 1940 jusqu'en 1981.Grâce à la neutralité de la Principauté d'Andorre, Ràdio Andorra sera ainsi la seule radio privée française à émettre durant toute la 2ème guerre mondiale sans aucun contrôle, ni de la France ni de l'Allemagne. Après la guerre, les autorités françaises tenteront en vain de remettre en cause l'indépendance de cette radio en faisant pression sur le gouvernement andorran...
Le 2 avril 1981, la principauté d'Andorre souhaitant nationaliser la radiodiffusion sur son territoire, ordonne l'interruption immédiate des émissions de Ràdio Andorra.
La "Radio Nacional d'Andorra", station radio publique andorrane, ne diffusera sa 1ère émission qu'en 1991, après 10 ans de silence radio en Andorre...
France declares war against Germany shortly after the opening of this radio broadcasting that interrupted briefly before emiting again in April 1940 until 1981. Thanks to the neutrality of the Principality of Andorra, Ràdio Andorra will then be the only private French radio to broadcast during all the 2nd world war without any control, either of France nor Germany.
After the war, the French authorities will try in vain to reconsider the independence of this radio by putting pressure on the Government of Andorra...
On April 2, 1981, the Principality of Andorra, wishing the nationalization of radio broadcasting on its territory, ordered the immediate suspension of "Ràdio Andorra".
The "Radio Nacional d'Andorra", Andorran public radio station, will emit radio broadcasting for the first time only in 1991, after 10 years of radio silence in Andorra...
