Italy-San Marino joint stamp issue 2015 : Techno Science Park

Émission commune Italie Saint-Marin 2015 : Techno Science Park

On March 31, 2009 the Government of the Italian Republic and the Government of the Republic of San Marino signed an agreement on economic cooperation, especially in the field of scientific and technological research and innovation.
This agreement also provided for the creation of a science and technology park on the territory of the small republic of San Marino, operational since 2012, being part of the APSTI network of technological and scientific parks of Italy.
To celebrate this scientific cooperation in research and development and innovation, the two postal administrations of Italy and San Marino have put into circulation, on October 23, 2015, a joint set composed of two stamps.

I was lucky to receive the two letters above and below franked respectively with the versions of San Marino and Italy of this joint set !
The cover above is cancelled with the special postmark (dated November 5, 2015) issued by the AASFN of San Marino during the last "Salon Philatélique d'Automne" in Paris, featuring the Alexandre III bridge.
This series of stamps was designed by illustrator Matteo Riva, printed in sheet of 20 stamps (for each stamp) to 40,000 copies.
The € 1.60 stamp (including the flags of the two countries) symbolizes this Techno Science Park as a microcosm consisting of a combination of symbols and icons typical of the universe of startup companies (drone, 3D printing, digital technologies, smartphones...).

A big thank you Giovanni for the second letter above, with a First Day cancellation from the Italian city of Legnago !
To note that the Italian Post issued this set in gummed version (rather unusual today), printed at 800,000 copies for each stamp, with identical nominal values (€ 0.95), lower than the version of San Marino.
The 2nd stamp of this series, right above, features a human mind which is the origin of this science park, a young researcher with switching on a light bulb.
To note that this joint issue between these two countries is the fourth one in a row since 2012 !
