Bloc-feuillet "Libuše et Jaromír Knotek - 30 ans de philatélie" sur lettres de République tchèque
Le 2 septembre 2025, la poste tchèque a mis en circulation un intéressant bloc-feuillet (2 timbres) consacré à l'œuvre philatélique du couple d'artistes Libuše et Jaromír Knotek.
Depuis 30 ans (première série émise en 1996 représentant différentes espèces de rongeurs), Libuše et Jaromír Knotek ont créé environ 150 timbres pour la poste tchèque, presque exclusivement consacrés à la faune et la flore du pays (orchidées, réserves naturelles, papillons, zoos, poissons d'aquarium...).
Ce bloc-feuillet, constitué de 2 timbres (tarif permanent "B" - envoi domestique standard
jusqu'à 50g en mode économique - 31 CZK actuellement, tirage : 4020) et d'une vignette centrale, ne fait pas partie du programme philatélique officiel mais a été conçu à partir de timbres
personnalisés ("Vlastní známka").
Ce bloc-feuillet, avec mention "Libuše et Jaromír Knotek - 30 ans de philatélie" dans la marge inférieure, a été utilisé à gauche sur les 2 splendides lettres ci-dessous envoyées en recommandé le Premier Jour d'émission depuis Prague. Merci beaucoup Bret !
On September 2, 2025, the Czech Post issued an interesting souvenir sheet (2 stamps) dedicated to the philatelic work of the artist couple Libuše and Jaromír Knotek.
Over the past 30 years (the first series was issued in 1996 depicting various rodent species), Libuše and Jaromír Knotek have created approximately 150 stamps for the Czech Post, almost exclusively devoted to the country's flora and fauna (orchids, nature reserves, butterflies, zoos, aquarium fish, etc.).
This souvenir sheet, consisting of two stamps (permanent rate "B" - standard domestic mail up to 50g in economy mode - currently 31 CZK, print run: 4,020) and a central label, is not part of the official philatelic program but was designed based on personalized stamps ("Vlastní známka").
This souvenir sheet, with the inscription "Libuše and Jaromír Knotek - 30 years of philately" in the lower margin, was used on the left side of the two beautiful covers below, sent by registered mail on the First Day of Issue from Prague. Many thanks, Bret!
Les signatures des 2 artistes figurent également dans la marge inférieure de ce bloc-feuillet, incluant différentes espèces animales dans les autres marges, rappelant les motifs de timbres émis ces 30 dernières années.
Le timbre à gauche (lynx - Lynx lynx) reproduit le motif d'un des 4 timbres du bloc-feuillet émis le 31 août 2011, consacré à la protection de la faune et de la flore du parc national de
Šumava, une réserve de la biosphère de l'UNESCO depuis 1990.
L'autre timbre (huppe fasciée - Upupa epops) reproduit le motif d'un des 4 timbres du bloc-feuillet émis le 1er septembre 2010, consacré à la réserve de la biosphère de la basse vallée de la Morava, située dans le sud-est du pays (la 2ème plus grande zone de ce type en Europe).
Bret a complété son affranchissement ci-dessus avec 3 timbres extraits d'un autre bloc-feuillet conçu par Libuše et Jaromír Knotek, émis le 3 septembre 2014, consacré à la faune et la flore du massif montagneux des Beskides, le loup (Canis lupus - 25 CZK), le blaireau (Meles meles - 13 CZK) et l'ours brun (Ursus arctos - 21 CZK) ici.
The signatures of both artists also appear in the lower margin of this souvenir sheet, including various animal species in the other margins, recalling the stamp motifs issued over the past 30 years.
The stamp on the left (Eurasian lynx - Lynx lynx) reproduces the motif of one of the four stamps of the souvenir sheet issued on August 31, 2011, dedicated to the protection of the fauna and flora of the Šumava National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 1990.
The other stamp (hoopoe - Upupa epops) reproduces the motif of one of the four stamps of the souvenir sheet issued on September 1, 2010, dedicated to the Lower Morava Valley Biosphere Reserve, located in the southeast of the country (the second largest such area in Europe).
Bret supplemented his franking above with 3 stamps from another souvenir sheet designed by Libuše and Jaromír Knotek, issued on September 3, 2014, dedicated to the fauna and flora of the Beskid mountains, the wolf (Canis lupus - 25 CZK), the badger (Meles meles - 13 CZK) and the brown bear (Ursus arctos - 21 CZK) here.
Ce même bloc-feuillet a été utilisé sur la 2ème lettre ci-dessus. Bret a utilisé 2 timbres différents à droite, faisant partie d'un des autres blocs-feuillets conçus par Libuše et Jaromír Knotek, émis le 2 septembre 2015, consacré à différentes espèces de chouettes et hiboux protégés, le hibou grand-duc (Bubo bubo - 25 CZK) et la chevêche d'Athéna (Athene noctua - 13 CZK) ici.
This same souvenir sheet was used on the 2nd envelope above. Bret used two different stamps on the right, part of one of the other souvenir sheets designed by Libuše and Jaromír Knotek, issued on September 2, 2015, dedicated to different species of protected owls, the eagle owl (Bubo bubo - 25 CZK) and the little owl (Athene noctua - 13 CZK) here.
