Tribute to National Laureates in literature in Malaysia

Lauréats nationaux en littérature à l'honneur en Malaisie

A l'occasion de la foire internationale du livre organisée du 29 avril au 9 mai 2016 à Kuala Lumpur, la poste malaisienne a mis en circulation, le 29 avril 2016, une intéressante série de 3 timbres (80 sen chacun) consacrée à des personnalités de la littérature malaise.
Ces 3 écrivains ou poètes ont la particularité d'avoir été désignés "Lauréat National" ("Sasterawan Negara" en malais) pour leur contribution à la littérature malaise, respectivement en 1981 (1er Lauréat) pour Kamaludin bin Muhammad (Keris Mas), 1983 pour Usman bin Awang (Tongkat Warrant) et 1988 pour Muhammad bin Abdul Biang (Arena Wati).
13 Lauréats Nationaux ont été honorés depuis 1981, dont la 1ère femme (Datuk Zurinah Hassan) en 2015.
On the occasion of the International Book Fair held from April 29 to May 9, 2016 in Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian Post put into circulation on April 29, 2016, an interesting set of 3 stamps (80 sen each) devoted to 3 personalities of Malay literature.
These three writers or poets have the distinction of having been designated "National Laureate" ("Sasterawan Negara" in Malay) for their contributions to the Malay literature, respectively in 1981 (1st Winner) for Kamaludin bin Muhammad (Keris Mas), 1983 for Usman bin Awang (Tongkat Warrant) and 1988 for Muhammad bin Abdul Biang (Arena Wati).
13 National Laureates were honored since 1981, including the first woman (Datuk Zurinah Hassan) in 2015.

A noter que l'émission Premier Jour de cette série a été différée au 2 mai 2016 dans les 4 états de Johor, Kedah, Kelantan et Terengganu.
Keris Mas (1922-1992) a été un des fondateurs du mouvement littéraire "Asas '50", célèbre pour ses nombreuses nouvelles, ses 4 romans, ayant souvent pour thème l'injustice sociale et des personnages forts.
Tongkat Warrant (1929-2001), poète, dramaturge et romancier, est considéré comme un des plus grands poètes de la littérature malaise, mais également un poète très populaire à travers environ 200 poèmes au style simple et romantique.
Arena Wati (1925-2009), ancien journaliste, a reçu de nombreuses distinctions internationales, saluant ses romans ayant souvent pour thème les luttes des pauvres et des plus défavorisés.
Son roman "Sandera", publié en 1971, est largement considéré comme l'un des meilleurs romans de la littérature malaise.

To note that the First Day of Issue of this series has been postponed to May 2, 2016 in the 4 states of Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.
Keris Mas (1922-1992) was one of the founders of the literary movement "Asas '50", famous for his many short stories, his four novels, often having for theme social injustice and strong characters.
Tongkat Warrant (1929-2001), poet, playwright and novelist, is considered as one of the greatest poets of the Malay literature, but also a very popular poet through about 200 poems, often with a simple and romantic style.
Arena Wati (1925-2009), a former journalist, has received numerous international awards, saluting his novels often devoted to the struggles of the poor and the disadvantaged.
His novel "Sandera", published in 1971, is widely considered as one of the best novels of Malay literature.
