La ville de Compiègne (60 - Oise) s'est auto déclarée "Ville du Centenaire 1918 - 2018", rappelant que l'armistice mettant un terme à la 1ère Guerre mondiale a été signé le 11 novembre 1918 dans la clairière de Rethondes, en forêt de Compiègne.
Un logo (une composition évoquant des flammes ?) associé a été créé, reproduit en partie sur le TAD spécial mis en circulation le 11 novembre 2018 à Compiègne, marquant le 100ème anniversaire jour pour jour de la signature de cet armistice.
Le blason de Compiègne, un lion d'azur couronné (semé de fleurs de lys d'or), figure également sur ce TAD.
The city of Compiègne (60 - Oise) has self declared "City of the Centenary 1918 - 2018", reminding that the Armistice putting an end to the 1st World War was signed on November 11, 1918 in the forest of Compiègne.

Pour célébrer l'arrêt des combats il y a tout juste 100 ans, la ville de Compiègne avait décidé, outre les commémorations officielles à la Clairière de l'Armistice, de fêter l'événement au cœur même de la ville (place Saint-Jacques) ce 11 novembre 2018.
Axel a utilisé un des timbres (tarif "Lettre Verte") du carnet autocollant "Marianne l'engagée" mis en circulation dans le cadre du 72ème Salon Philatélique d'Automne organisé à Paris du 8 au 11 novembre 2018.
Pour rappel, ce carnet est constitué de 12 timbres Mariannes imprimés en héliogravure (6 timbres "Lettre Prioritaire 20g - 0,95€" et 6 timbres "Lettre Verte 20g - 0,80€") ainsi qu'un timbre (3,20€) de grand format (40 x 52 mm) reproduisant l'œuvre originale (en noir et blanc) réalisée par la street artiste Yseult YZ Digan, à l'origine de ce nouveau timbre courant français.

To commemorate the cessation of fighting just 100 years ago, the city of Compiègne decided, in addition to the official commemorations at the "Clairière de l'Armistice", to celebrate the event in the very heart of the city (Place Saint-Jacques) this November 11, 2018.
Axel used one of the stamps ("Green Letter" rate) of the self-adhesive booklet "Marianne l'engagée" put into circulation during the 72nd "Salon Philatélique d'Automne" held in Paris from 8 to 11 November 2018.
As a reminder, this booklet consists of 12 Marianne stamps printed in rotogravure (6 "Priority Letter 20g - € 0.95" stamps and 6 "Green Letter 20g - € 0.80" stamps) as well as a very large format (40 x 52 mm) stamp (€ 3.20) reproducing the original work (in black and white) made by the street artist Yseult YZ Digan, at the origin of this new French definitive stamp.
