Le 2 octobre 2018, la poste brésilienne Correios a mis en circulation 2 timbres ayant pour thème l'Inde, consacrés respectivement aux relations diplomatiques Brésil-Inde et au début des célébrations du 150ème anniversaire de la naissance de Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869-1948).
Ce dernier timbre (1,85 R$, tirage : 320000, conception : Jamile Costa Sallum) a été utilisé en 2 exemplaires sur la jolie lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 21 novembre 2018 depuis Santos (São Paulo). Merci beaucoup Marcelo !
J'aime beaucoup ce timbre au graphisme simple, inspiré d'un portrait du Mahatma Gandhi datant des années 1940.
On October 2, 2018, the Brazilian Post Correios put into circulation two stamps having India for topic, devoted respectively to Brazil-India diplomatic relations and the beginning of the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869-1948).
This last stamp (R$ 1.85, print run: 320,000, design: Jamile Costa Sallum) was used in two copies on the nice letter below sent on November 21, 2018 from Santos (São Paulo). Thank you very much Marcelo!
I really like that stamp with this simple design, inspired by a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi from the 1940s.
Ce 2 octobre fait référence au jour de naissance de Gandhi (à Pordanbar, état du Gujarat), pionnier du mouvement d'indépendance de l'Inde, prônant la désobéissance, la non-violence et le concept du "swaraj" (autodétermination).
A noter sur ce timbre cette citation de Gandhi ("Œil pour œil rend le monde entier aveugle") incitant à pardonner à ceux qui font le mal, à répondre par les idées et la non-violence.

Cet arbre (30 mètres de haut) est également planté dans de nombreux temples en Inde, où il est appelé "nagalingam" en tamoul et considéré comme sacré par les hindous (sa fleur ressemblant à un Nâga, un serpent sacré).
This October 2th refers to the day of Gandhi's birth (in Pordanbar, state of Gujarat), a pioneer of India's independence movement, advocating disobedience, nonviolence and the concept of "swaraj" (self-determination).
To note on this stamp this quotation from Gandhi ("An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind") encouraging to forgive those who do evil, to respond with ideas and non-violence.
