"Gulf Cooperation Council - 40th anniversary" joint stamp on cover from the UAE

Timbre commun "40 ans du Conseil de coopération du Golfe" sur lettre des Émirats arabes unis

En ordre dispersé (entre le 12 et le 26 décembre 2022) et avec 1 an de retard, les 6 administrations postales des états membres du Conseil de Coopération du Golfe (CCG) - Arabie saoudite, Oman, Koweït, Bahreïn, Émirats arabes unis, Qatar - ont mis en circulation un timbre commun à l'occasion du 40ème anniversaire de la création de cette organisation régionale.
Pour rappel, ce Conseil a été créé sous l'impulsion de l'Arabie saoudite et sous la pression des États-Unis le 25 mai 1981 à Abu Dhabi, dans le but d'assurer la stabilité économique et politique de la région. Ce Conseil est un club très politique de pétromonarchies sunnites qui sont soucieuses de sécurité face à l'Iran chiite ou aux guerres civiles voisines (Irak, Syrie), ayant également pour but une unification du système économique et financier des 6 états membres.
Le timbre (3 AED) émis le 12 décembre 2022 par la poste des Émirats arabes unis a été utilisé sur cette lettre envoyée le 21 février 2023 depuis Dubai. Merci beaucoup Mohammed !
In dispersed order (from December 12 to December 26, 2022) and with a year's delay, the 6 postal administrations of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) - Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar - have put into circulation a joint stamp on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the creation of this regional organization.
As a reminder, this Council was created at the instigation of Saudi Arabia and under pressure from the United States on May 25, 1981 in Abu Dhabi, with the aim of ensuring the economic and political stability of the region.
This Council is a very political club of Sunni petro-monarchies who are concerned about security in the face of Shiite Iran or neighboring civil wars (Iraq, Syria), also aiming to unify the economic and financial system of the 6 member states.
The stamp (AED 3) issued on December 12, 2022 by the United Arab Emirates Post was used on this cover sent on February 21, 2023 from Dubai. Thank you very much Mohammed!

Ce timbre commun représente les drapeaux et des édifices emblématiques de chacun des 6 pays membre de ce Conseil de Coopération du Golfe, dont l'emblème est également présent en haut à gauche.
Les édifices représentés sur ce timbre, de gauche à droite : les Kuwait Towers (Koweït) inaugurées en 1977 et rénovées en 1992 après l'invasion du pays par l'Irak, le minaret en spirale du centre culturel islamique Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud à Doha (Qatar), la tour de l'horloge de l'Université Sultan Qaboos à Mascate (Oman), la Makkah Clock Royal Tower à La Mecque, inaugurée en 2012 (Arabie Saoudite), les 2 tours du Bahrain World Trade Center à Manama (Bahreïn) et la mosquée Cheikh Zayed inaugurée en 2007 à Abu Dhabi (Émirats arabes unis).
A noter que ce timbre a également été mis en circulation dans un bloc-feuillet dont les marges comportent les portraits des 6 chefs d'état historiques ayant participé à la création de ce Conseil de Coopération du Golfe en 1981.
Parmi eux, le sultan Qabus ibn Saïd d'Oman, représenté à tort avec un couvre chef (massar) blanc sur les blocs-feuillets émis par les Émirats arabes unis et l'Arabie Saoudite. Il semble que ces blocs-feuillets ont été retirés de la circulation et que de nouveaux blocs-feuillets ont été émis, en tirage très limité...

The buildings depicted on this stamp, from left to right: the Kuwait Towers (Kuwait) inaugurated in 1977 and renovated in 1992 after the invasion of the country by Iraq, the spiral minaret of the Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center in Doha (Qatar), the clock tower of Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat (Oman), the Makkah Clock Royal Tower in Mecca, inaugurated in 2012 (Saudi Arabia), the 2 towers of the Bahrain World Trade Center in Manama (Bahrain) and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque inaugurated in 2007 in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates).
To note that this stamp was also put into circulation in a souvenir sheet with margins including the portraits of the 6 historical heads of state who participated in the creation of this Gulf Cooperation Council in 1981.
Among them, Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman, wrongly represented with a white headgear (massar) on the souvenir sheets issued by the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. It seems that these souvenir sheets have been withdrawn from circulation and that new souvenir sheets have been issued, in very limited edition...
