Après un 1er sommet Inde-Afrique organisé à New Delhi en 2008 et un 2ème sommet organisé sur le continent africain (à Addis Abeba, capitale de l'Ethiopie et siège de l'Union Africaine) en 2011, la 3ème édition de ce sommet était organisée à nouveau à New Delhi du 26 au 29 octobre 2015, en présence de la quasi totalité des pays africains (une quarantaine de chefs d'état ou de gouvernement).
La poste indienne avait déjà émis un bloc-feuillet (2 timbres "éléphant d'Afrique" et "éléphant d'Asie") en 2011 à l'occasion de ce 2ème sommet (India-Africa Forum Summit ou IAFS en anglais).
Le 29 octobre 2015, 6 timbres (tirage : 500000 chacun) ont cette fois été émis, également sur le thème des animaux, ainsi que 2 blocs-feuillets différents réunissant ces 6 timbres.
3 paires de timbres ont en fait été émis évoquant chacune 2 espèces originaires d'Afrique et d'Inde : rhinocéros d'Afrique et d'Inde (5 Rs chacun), antilope cervicapre et gazelle de Thomson (5 Rs chacun), lion d'Afrique et lion d'Asie (25 Rs chacun).
After a first India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS) held in New Delhi in 2008 and a 2nd Summit organized on the African continent (in Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital and headquarters of the African Union) in 2011, the 3rd edition of this Summit was organized again in New Delhi from 26 to 29 October 2015, attended by almost all African countries (forty heads of state or government).
India Post had already issued a miniature sheet (two stamps "African elephant" and "Asian elephant") in 2011 on the occasion of the 2nd Summit.
On October 29, 2015, six stamps (print run : 500 000 each) have been issued this time, also devoted to the theme of animals, as well as two different souvenir sheets uniting these six stamps.
Three pairs of stamps were actually issued evoking each two fauna species from Africa and India : African and Indian Rhinoceros (Rs 5 each), Black buck and Thomson's gazelle (Rs 5 each), African and Indian Lion (Rs 25 each).
Un 1er bloc-feuillet "normal" a été mis en circulation (faciale : 70 Rs, tirage : 200000) ainsi qu'un 2ème bloc-feuillet "novateur" (même faciale mais prix de vente : 200 Rs, tirage inconnu ?) identique mais avec les animaux imprimés en relief avec un vernis doré ou argenté.
C'est cette 2ème version qui a été utilisée pour affranchir la très jolie lettre ci-dessus envoyée en recommandé le 14 décembre 2015 de la ville de Lucknow. Merci beaucoup Alka !
A noter l'emblème de ce sommet en haut à droite sur ce bloc (deux cartes de l'Inde et de l'Afrique aux couleurs du drapeau indien sur fond de tête de lion) accompagné du slogan "Un partenariat renforcé, une vision partagée".
A travers ce sommet, l'Inde cherche en particulier à rattraper son retard par rapport à la Chine concernant les investissements en Afrique, en nouant des partenariats dans de nombreux domaines : lutte contre le terrorisme, la pauvreté, l'analphabétisme, défi du changement climatique, promotion socio-économique des peuples...
A first "normal" souvenir sheet was put into circulation (value : 70 Rs, print run : 200,000) as well as a second "innovative" one (same value but sold at a price of Rs 200, unknown print run ?), identical but with the animals printed with an embossed and gold or silver foil technique.
It is this second version that was used to frank the beautiful letter above sent by registered mail on December 14, 2015 from the city of Lucknow. Thank you very much Alka !
To note the emblem of this Summit at the top right on the margin (two maps of India and Africa in the colors of the Indian flag, with a lion's head on the background) accompanied by the slogan "Reinvigorated Partnership - Shared Vision".
Through this Summit, India seeks in particular to catch up with China concerning investments in Africa, by building partnerships in many areas such as the fight against terrorism, poverty, illiteracy, challenge of climate change climate, socio-economic advancement of people...
