A l'occasion du 100ème anniversaire de la naissance de l'actrice suédoise Ingrid Bergman (1915-1982), l'USPS et la poste suédoise ont mis en circulation, le 20 août 2015, un timbre commun consacré à l'une des plus grandes actrices de l'histoire du cinéma.
Ingrid Bergman est devenue une star mondialement connue en 1942 lorsqu'elle séduit Humphrey Bogart dans le film "Casablanca", un de ces plus grands rôles, avec "Hantise", "Anastasia" ou "Le Crime de l'Orient-Express" pour lesquels elle remporta un Oscar.
Elle marqua également le public pour ses rôles dans des films d'Alfred Hitchcock comme "La Maison du docteur Edwardes" ou "Les Enchaînés".
C'est le version américaine de ce timbre ("Forever" soit 0,49$) qui figure à droite sur cette carte envoyée le 22 décembre 2015 du célèbre musée postal national de Washington. Merci beaucoup Terence !
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman (1915-1982), the USPS and the Swedish Post have put into circulation, on August 20, 2015, a joint stamp dedicated to one of the greatest film actresses of history.
Ingrid Bergman became a world-famous star in 1942 when she seduced Humphrey Bogart in the movie "Casablanca", one of her greatest roles with "Gaslight", "Anastasia" and "Murder on the Orient Express" for which she won an Academy Award.
She also marked the public for her roles in Alfred Hitchcock's films such as "Spellbound" and "Notorious".
This is the American version of that stamp ("Forever", $ 0.49 currently) which appears to the right on this card sent on December 22, 2015 from the famous National Postal Museum in Washington. Thank you very much Terence !

A noter cette impressionnante oblitération de ce musée postal national (Smithsonian Institution), ouvert en 1993 dans l'édifice du bureau de poste principal de Washington, en service entre 1914 et 1986.
Cette oblitération fait référence à une exposition "New York City: A Portrait Through Stamp Art" organisée dans ce musée du 10 décembre 2015 au 13 mars 2017. Cette exposition est consacrée à l'influence de la ville de New-York dans la société américaine, sous le prisme du timbre-poste.
Terence a complété son affranchissement (total : 1,20$ pour un envoi international "1ère classe") avec un timbre de distributeur ("Forever" soit 0,49$) édité le 5 décembre 2015 (1er jour d'émission : 29 octobre 2015) consacré à Charlie Brown, ce personnage principal du comic strip "Peanuts" créé en 1950 par Charles M. Schulz.
That stamp, inspired by a portrait of the actress (circa 1940) by renowned photographer Laszlo Willinger, is the 19th stamp issued by the USPS in its series "Legends of Hollywood".

This postmark refers to an exhibition "New York City : A Portrait Through Stamp Art" organized in this museum from December 10, 2015 to March 13, 2017. This exhibition is devoted to the influence of the city of New York in American society under stamp's prism.

A noter également sur cette carte l'oblitération mécanique appliquée ce 22 décembre 2015, incluant la mention Cap (Capital) District.
L'autre côté de cette carte ci-dessus reproduit une carte postale ancienne montrant cet édifice ("Postal Square Building", architecte : Daniel Burnham) après son inauguration en 1914, abritant aujourd'hui le musée postal national.
