Le 3 décembre 2015, la Deutsche Post a mis une circulation une intéressante série de 2 timbres intitulée "micro-mondes" ("Mikrowelten") représentant respectivement des vues microscopiques d'une plante (Aigremoine eupatoire) et d'une micro-algue unicellulaire (diatomée).
Ces 2 timbres (conception : Andrea Voß-Acker, 0,70€ chacun) ont été utilisés pour affranchir la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 14 décembre 2015 de Hambourg. Merci beaucoup Lars !
On December 3, 2015, the Deutsche Post has put into circulation an interesting series of two stamps entitled "Micro-worlds" ("Mikrowelten") depicting respectively some microscopic views of a plant (Agrimony) and a unicellular microalgae (diatom).
These two stamps (design : Andrea Voß-Acker, € 0.70 each) have been used to frank the cover below sent on December 14, 2015 from Hamburg. Thank you very much Lars !
Ces 2 timbres ont été conçus à partir de photographies de "KAGE Mikrofotografie" et son Institut pour la photographie scientifique, précurseur de ce type de photographie en Allemagne, utilisant depuis plus de 40 ans des microscopes modernes pour transformer des microcosmes en oeuvres d'art photographiques.
Le timbre ci-dessus à gauche montre une partie d'Aigremoine eupatoire (Agrimonia eupatoria), grossie 40 fois ici, une plante herbacée connue depuis l'Antiquité pour ses nombreuses propriétés médicinales.
Une diatomée (Bacillariophyta), grossie 600 fois, est représentée sur l'autre timbre. Cette micro-algue unicellulaire (100000 espèces répertoriées), apparue sur terre il y a 145 millions d'années (Crétacé), est un constituant majeur du phytoplancton et joue un rôle essentiel dans la vie des écosystèmes marins.
These two stamps have been designed from photographs by "KAGE Mikrofotografie" and its Institute for scientific photography, a precursor of this type of photography in Germany, using for over 40 years modern microscopes to transform microcosms into photographic works of art.
The stamp above to the left is featuring a part of Common agrimony (Agrimonia eupatoria), magnified 40 times here, an herbaceous plant known since Antiquity for its many medicinal properties.
A diatom (Bacillariophyta), magnified 600 times, is shown on the other stamp. This unicellular microalgae (100,000 species estimated), appeared on earth about 145 million years (Cretaceous) ago, is a major component of phytoplankton and plays an essential role in the life of marine ecosystems.
