En 2024, l'Union Postale Universelle (UPU) célèbre son 150ème anniversaire. Le 9 octobre 1874, 22 pays se sont réunis pour signer le Traité de Berne, créant ainsi l'Union générale des postes, qui deviendra ensuite l'Union Postale Universelle (à partir de 1878).
150 ans plus tard, l'UPU unit à présent les réseaux postaux de 192 pays membres. Elle a ainsi concrétisé la vision de ses fondateurs, qui consistait à établir un territoire postal unique pour servir toutes les populations, où qu'elles se trouvent.
Avec le thème de ce 150ème anniversaire, "150 ans d'engagement pour la communication et le développement des peuples à travers le monde", l'UPU célèbre cette réalisation et renforce son engagement à servir les populations pour les années et siècles à venir.
Tout au long de cette année 2024, l'UPU organise une série d'événements et des campagnes visant à rendre hommage à la richesse de son passé, à la pertinence de son présent et aux promesses de son avenir, en utilisant en particulier le hashtag #UPU150 sur les réseaux sociaux.
In 2024, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) celebrates its 150th anniversary. On October 9, 1874, 22 countries gathered to sign the Treaty of Bern, creating the General Postal Union, which would later become known as the Universal Postal Union (from 1878).
150 years later, the UPU now unites the postal networks of 192 member countries, having realized its founders' vision of establishing a single postal territory to serve people everywhere.
The UPU's theme for its 150th year, "150 years of enabling communication and empowering peoples across nations", recognizes this accomplishment, and reinforces its commitment to serve peoples for the decades and centuries to come.
Throughout 2024, the UPU will roll out a series of events and campaigns in celebration of its rich past, dedicated present and promising future, in particular using the hashtag #UPU150 on social media. 

L'UPU, institution spécialisée de l'ONU (depuis 1947) dont le siège se trouve à Berne (Suisse), est la seconde plus ancienne organisation internationale après l'Union Internationale des Télécommunications, et constitue le principal forum de coopération entre les acteurs mondiaux du secteur postal.
A l'occasion de la Journée du timbre, la poste serbe a mis en circulation, le 15 mai 2024, un timbre consacré au 150ème anniversaire de l'UPU, imprimé en feuillet de 25 timbres.
Ce timbre (48 RSD, tirage : 25000), conçu par Jakša Vlahović, a été utilisé en 3 exemplaires sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 31 mai 2024 depuis Novi Sad. Merci beaucoup Dusan !
Le célèbre monument de l'UPU ("Weltpostdenkmal"), inauguré à Berne le 4 octobre 1909, figure sur ce timbre, avec le siège actuel de l'UPU dans le fond. Au fil des ans, le monument de l'UPU est apparu sur des centaines de timbres à l'échelle mondiale. L'élément central de l'œuvre – cinq femmes se passant des lettres autour d'un globe terrestre – a été adopté comme emblème de l'UPU il y a plusieurs décennies. Le monument symbolise la communication postale internationale. Chaque messagère représente un continent, soit les Amériques, l'Australie, l'Afrique, l'Asie et l'Europe. 
Ce timbre comporte également un portrait de Mladen Ž. Radojković qui fut le délégué de la Principauté de Serbie, secrétaire du département des postes et télégraphes du ministère de l'Économie, ayant signé le traité sur la création de l'Union postale universelle en 1874.
De nombreuses autres administrations postales vont émettre des timbres/entiers postaux sur ce thème en 2024 (la plupart le 9 octobre), en utilisant la charte graphique de l'UPU (Azerbaïdjan, Monaco, Thaïlande, Hong Kong, Géorgie...) ou non (Roumanie, Nations Unies, France, Hongrie, Belgique...). 
The UPU, a specialized agency of the United Nations (since 1947) headquartered in Bern, Switzerland, is the second oldest international organization after the International Telecommunications Union, and constitutes the main forum for cooperation between global postal sector players.
On the occasion of the Stamp Day, the Serbian Post has put into circulation on May 15, 2024 a stamp dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the UPU, printed in a sheet of 25 stamps.
This stamp (48 RSD, print run: 25,000), designed by Jakša Vlahović, was used in 3 copies on the above cover sent on May 31, 2024 from Novi Sad. Thank you very much Dusan!
The famous UPU monument ("Weltpostdenkmal"), inaugurated in Bern on October 4, 1909, is featured on this stamp, with the current UPU headquarters in the background. Over the years, the UPU monument has appeared on hundreds of stamps worldwide. The central image of the monument – the five women passing letters around a globe – was adopted as the UPU emblem several decades ago. The monument symbolizes international postal communication. The women represent each of the five continents: the Americas, Australia, Asia, Europe and Africa.
This stamp also features a portrait of Mladen Ž. Radojković who was the delegate of the Principality of Serbia, Secretary of the Department of Posts and Telegraphs of the Ministry of Economy, who signed the treaty on the creation of the Universal Postal Union in 1874.
Many other postal administrations will issue stamps/postal stationeries on this theme in 2024 (most on October 9th), using the UPU graphic charter (Azerbaijan, Monaco, Thailand, Hong Kong, Georgia, etc.) or not (Romania, United Nations, France, Hungary, Belgium, etc.).
