Lors de la 131ème session du Comité international olympique organisée à Lima (Pérou) du 13 au 16 septembre 2017, la ville de Paris a été officiellement désignée pour organiser les jeux olympiques et paralympiques en 2024 (Los Angeles a été désignée pour les jeux de 2028).
Pour célébrer cette désignation, la poste française (qui est un des partenaires officiels de cette candidature) à remis en circulation, le 13 septembre 2017, le timbre émis initialement le 15 mai 2017 consacré à Paris 2024 et à son slogan "Venez partager".
Ce timbre initial (0,73€, tirage : 1 000 020) représente le Grand Palais, un des sites historiques emblématiques de Paris qui accueilleront des épreuves (escrime et taekwondo) lors de ces jeux.
During the 131th session of the International Olympic Committee held in Lima, Peru from 13 to 16 September 2017, the city of Paris was officially designated to organize the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2024 (Los Angeles was designated for the games of 2028).
In order to celebrate this designation, the French Post (which is one of the official partners of this bid) has re-issued on September 13, 2017, the stamp originally issued on May 15, 2017 dedicated to Paris 2024 and its slogan "Made for sharing" ("Venez partager" in French).
This initial stamp (€ 0.73, print run: 1,000,020) is featuring the Grand Palais, one of the historic emblematic sites of Paris that will host events (fencing and taekwondo) during these games.
10000 feuilles (24 timbres par feuille) de ce timbre initial ont été réémises le 13 septembre 2017, avec différentes surcharges : la date de désignation de Paris 2024 "13/09/2017" ainsi que la mention "Lima" entre la Tour Eiffel et la cathédrale basilique Saint-Jean de Lima.
Un de ces timbres surchargés, avec sa vignette attenante (logo de Paris 2024), figure sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessus avec TAD de Paris (conception : Mathilde Laurent) incluant l'inévitable Tour Eiffel ainsi que la mention "Paris 2024 - Ville hôte des jeux olympiques et paralympiques".
A noter le coin daté (du 11 avril 2017) et une partie de la marge à droite, également surchargée (basilique de Lima ici).
10,000 sheets (24 stamps per sheet) of this initial stamp were re-issued on September 13, 2017, with different overprinted parts : the date of designation of Paris 2024 "13/09/2017" as well as the mention "Lima" between the Eiffel Tower and the Cathedral Basilica of St. John of Lima.
One of these overprinted stamps, with its attached vignette (Paris 2024 logo), appears on the First Day cover above with postmark from Paris (design: Mathilde Laurent) including the inevitable Eiffel Tower as well as the mention "Paris 2024 - Host City of the Olympic and Paralympic Games".
To note the dated corner (April 11, 2017) and a part of the margin to the right, also overprinted (basilica of Lima here).

The initial stamp, issued on May 15, 2017, was used on the letter above with the special cancellation, dated September 14, 2017, of the "Service des Oblitérations Philatéliques" ("Philatelic cancellations' Department"), relocated since this year to Boulazac (24), headquarters of Phil@poste printing house.
Rendez-vous in Paris in 2024 for these games, 100 years after the last edition in France!
