Hors Inde, de nombreuses administrations postales (Serbie, France, Moldavie, Paraguay, Hongrie, République Dominicaine, Bhoutan, Émirats Arabes Unis, Arménie, Irak, Monaco...) ont émis ou vont mettre en circulation cette année des timbres consacrés au 150ème anniversaire de la naissance de Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869-1948).
Le 26 juin 2019, la poste tchèque a également mis en circulation un timbre (tarif permanent "Z" pour un envoi jusqu'à 50g hors d'Europe - 45 CZK actuellement) conçu par Jan Kavan.
Ce timbre figure sur la jolie lettre ci-dessous envoyée en recommandé de Prague le 1er jour d'émission, avec les 2 autres timbres émis le même jour.
Ce timbre représente un portrait du Mahatma Gandhi faisant le signe de salutation et de respect namaskar.

On June 26, 2019, the Czech Post also issued a stamp (permanent "Z" rate for a shipment up to 50g outside Europe - currently 45 CZK) designed by Jan Kavan.
This stamp is present on the beautiful letter below sent by registered mail from Prague on the first day of issue, with the other two stamps issued the same day.
That stamp is featuring a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi giving a namaskar, the greeting of respect made by pressing the palms together.
Le Mahatma Gandhi, né en 1869 à Pordanbar (état du Gujarat), surnommé le "Père de la Nation" en Inde, fut un des pionniers du mouvement d'indépendance du pays, prônant la désobéissance, la non-violence et le concept du "swaraj" (autodétermination).
Le 30 janvier 1948, en chemin vers une réunion de prière, Gandhi est assassiné à New Delhi par un hindou nationaliste.
Le timbre au centre ci-dessus (tarif permanent domestique "A" - 19 CZK actuellement), conçu par Milan Bauer, commémore le 150ème anniversaire de la mise en service de la ligne de tram hippomobile à Brno.
Le timbre à droite (tarif permanent domestique "A"), conçu par Kryštof Krejča, rend hommage à Jan Palach et Jan Zajíc, 2 étudiants qui se sont immolés par le feu sur la place Venceslas à Prague, respectivement le 16 janvier et le 25 février 1969, afin de protester contre le pouvoir communiste et l'occupation soviétique.

The stamp on the right (permanent domestic tariff "A"), designed by Kryštof Krejča, pays tribute to Jan Palach and Jan Zajíc, two students who committed suicide by self-immolation on Wenceslas Square in Prague, on January 16 and February 25, 1969 respectively, in protest against communist power and Soviet occupation.

Je ne sais pas exactement à quoi fait référence la gravure à gauche (par Bohumil Šneider) sur cette enveloppe et quel est ce symbole entouré par 4 mains... le TAD Premier Jour représente les célèbres lunettes à verres ronds portées par Gandhi.

I do not know exactly what the engraving on the left (by Bohumil Šneider) on this envelope is featuring and what is this symbol surrounded by 4 hands ... the First Day postmark represents Gandhi's famous round-headed glasses.
J'aime beaucoup le FDC ci-dessus (tirage : 3300) concernant le timbre rendant hommage à Jan Palach et Jan Zajíc, avec ce TAD de Prague constitué de 2 croix, rappelant le Mémorial dédié à Palach et Zajíc, sous la forme d'une croix de bronze gisant sur le sol, implanté place Venceslas devant le Musée national de Prague...
L'illustration sur l'enveloppe représente la carte d'identité de Jan Palach, en partie brûlée.
