Le 8 mai 2019, la poste de Singapour a officiellement dévoilé, en présence du ministre des Affaires étrangères, M. Vivian Balakrishnan, et de l'ambassadeur de l'État d'Israël à Singapour, Simona Halperin, les 2 timbres émis conjointement avec la poste d'Israël pour célébrer le 50ème anniversaire de l'établissement de relations diplomatiques entre les 2 pays.
Les 2 pays entretiennent aujourd'hui de bonnes relations, en particulier dans les domaines de l'économie et de la défense, ce qui ne fut pas toujours le cas dans le passé, Singapour étant situé dans un environnement géo-politique dominé par la Malaisie et l'Indonésie soutenant la cause palestinienne.
Les 2 timbres de cette émission commune présentent des fleurs et des oiseaux originaires des deux pays, symbolisant les valeurs communes et l'amitié entre les deux jeunes nations.
On May 8, 2019, the Singapore Post officially unveiled, in the presence of Foreign Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and the Ambassador of the State of Israel in Singapore, Simona Halperin, the two stamps jointly issued with the Post of Israel to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The two countries enjoy good relations today, particularly in the fields of economy and defense, which has not always been the case in the past, as Singapore is located in a geo-political environment dominated by Malaysia and Indonesia, both supporting the Palestinian cause.
The two stamps of this joint issue show flowers and birds from both countries, symbolizing the common values and friendship between the two young nations.
La poste de Singapour a émis ces 2 timbres chacun en feuillet de 10 timbres ainsi que dans le bloc-feuillet présent sur le très élégant FDC officiel ci-dessus. Merci beaucoup Terence !
Ces 2 timbres ont été conçus par Agnes Tan pour Singapour et Tuvia Kurtz / Osnat Eshel pour Israël.
Sur le timbre évoquant Singapour figurent des fleurs que l'on trouve couramment dans les rues et les parcs de Singapour, notamment l'orchidée Dendrobium crumenatum, le bougainvillier et le Jarum-jarum (Ixora congesta). Cette représentation rappelle la réputation unique de Singapour en tant que ville jardin.
Un oiseau, le souïmanga siparaja (Aethopyga siparaja), oiseau national (non officiel) de Singapour, est présent également sur ce timbre, faisant face à une huppe fasciée (Upupa epops), oiseau national d'Israël.
Ces 2 oiseaux figurent également sur l'autre timbre, comportant différentes fleurs courantes en Israël, notamment l'anémone, le cyclamen, le séneçon et le narcisse.
D'après la poste de Singapour, ces timbres "reflètent la diversité de chaque pays et leur capacité à s'épanouir au niveau international malgré leurs petites tailles, illustrées par ces 2 oiseaux".

These two stamps have been designed by Agnes Tan for Singapore and Tuvia Kurtz / Osnat Eshel for Israel.
The stamp devoted to Singapore depicts flowers commonly found in Singapore's streets and parks, including the orchid Dendrobium crumenatum, bougainvillea and Jarum-jarum (Ixora congesta). This design is a nod to Singapore's unique reputation as a garden city.
A bird, the crimson sunbird (Aethopyga siparaja), the (unofficial) national bird of Singapore, is also present on this stamp, facing a hoopoe (Upupa epops), the national bird of Israel.
These two birds are also featured on the other stamp, with various common flowers in Israel, including anemone, cyclamen, senecio and narcissus.
According to the Singapore Post, these stamps "reflect the diversity of each country and their ability to flourish internationally despite their small sizes, as embodied by these two birds".
