Pour rappel, les timbres EUROPA émis en 2011 avaient pour thème les forêts, un choix de PostEurop (l'association des opérateurs postaux publics européens) pour célébrer l'année internationale des forêts.
Pour rappel également, ces timbres incluaient pour la 1ère fois le nouveau logo EUROPA (toujours en vigueur), précédé par un pictogramme évoquant une boîte aux lettres.
Je suis heureux (mieux vaut tard que jamais !) d'ajouter cette lettre à ma collection, envoyée le 1er avril 2019, affranchie avec le joli bloc-feuillet EUROPA mis en circulation le 4 mai 2011 par la poste de Guernesey !
Seulement 2 (0,45£ et 0,52£) des 3 timbres émis (imprimés aux Pays-Bas par Joh. Enschedé également en feuillet de 10 timbres chacun) arborent le logo EUROPA.
As a reminder, the EUROPA stamps issued in 2011 focused on forests, a choice of PostEurop (the association of European public postal operators) to celebrate the International Year of Forests.

I'm happy (better late than never!) to add this letter to my collection, sent on April 1, 2019, stamped with the nice EUROPA miniature sheet put into circulation on May 4, 2011 by the Guernsey Post!
Only two (£ 0.45 and £ 0.52) of the three stamps issued (printed in the Netherlands by Joh. Enschedé also in a sheetlet of 10 stamps each) bear the EUROPA logo.
Ce bloc-feuillet est particulier, avec sa découpe irrégulière épousant la forme des feuilles des arbres à l'honneur à travers leurs fruits, en gros plan sur chaque timbre : le gland (chêne), la noisette et le marron. J'aime bien la présence de cette petit coccinelle dans la marge inférieure.
Cette série EUROPA est en fait la continuation de la série EUROPA 2010 (livres pour enfants) puisqu'elle a également été conçue par l'illustrateur Keith Robinson, connu pour ses livres de fantasie pour enfants et adolescents.
L'illustration ci-dessus est en particulier extraite du livre "Penny and the Dragon" qui marque le retour de l'héroïne Penny the Postie. Après avoir aidé un pirate à récupérer son navire dans sa première aventure en 2010, Penny s'embarque dans un nouveau voyage lorsqu'elle rencontre une boîte aux lettres étrange sur Forest Road, contenant un petit colis vert.
Lorsqu'elle l'ouvre, quelque chose d'étrange se produit et Penny se retrouve dans une forêt enchantée...
Keith Robinson a débuté sa collaboration avec la poste de Guernesey en 2009 et a créé plusieurs séries de timbres pour Guernesey et Alderney.
This miniature sheet is particular, with its irregular cut-out matching the shape of the leaves of the trees in the spotlight through their fruits, in close-up on each stamp: acorn (oak), hazelnut and conker (horse-chestnut). I like the presence of this little ladybird in the lower margin.
This EUROPA series is actually the continuation of the EUROPA 2010 series (children's books) since it was also designed by illustrator Keith Robinson, known for his magical fantasy fiction books for children and teenagers.
The illustration above is particularly taken from the book "Penny and the Dragon" which marks the return of the heroine Penny the Postie. Having helped a pirate recover his ship in her first ever adventure in 2010, Penny embarks on a new journey when she encounters a strange postbox on Forest Road, which contains only a small green parcel.
When she reaches in for the parcel, something strange happens and Penny finds herself in an enchanted forest...
Keith Robinson began his collaboration with Guernsey Post in 2009 and has created several sets of stamps for Guernsey and Alderney.
