Un grand merci Vera pour ce joli pli Premier Jour (différent du FDC officiel de la poste lettone), avec TAD de Riga (LV-1010) concernant la série EUROPA, mise en circulation le 26 avril 2019, consacrée cette année au thème des oiseaux nationaux ("nacionālais putns" en letton) !
Conçus par Ģirts Grīva, ces 2 timbres correspondent respectivement à l'envoi d'une lettre de classe A vers l'Union Européenne (0,78€, tirage : 46000) et à l'envoi d'une lettre de classe A en recommandé vers l'Union Européenne (1,71€, tirage : 30000).
Comme en 2018, ces 2 timbres ont la particularité d'avoir été imprimés chacun en feuillet de 10 timbres composé de 5 paires tête-bêche.

Designed by Ģirts Grīva, these two stamps correspond respectively to the sending of a Class A letter to the European Union (€ 0.78, print run: 46,000) and the sending of a Class A letter by registered mail to the European Union (€ 1.71, print run: 30,000).
As in 2018, these two stamps have the distinction of having been printed each in sheetlet of 10 stamps consisting of 5 pairs head to tail.
La bergeronnette grise (Motacilla alba) a été désignée comme l'oiseau national de la Lettonie en 1965 par la société lettone pour la protection de la nature et des monuments et des ornithologues.
Ce petit passereau au plumage noir et blanc caractéristique, appelé "baltā cielava" en letton, est de retour en Lettonie en avril après une période de migration en hiver.
Cet oiseau est représenté sur le logo de la Société lettone d'ornithologie et est l'un des oiseaux les plus souvent mentionnés dans les contes et chansons folkloriques lettons (souvent un symbole de travail acharné et de diligence).
J'aime beaucoup cette série EUROPA, avec une représentation de cet oiseau et un détail de la tête, sur fond de carte et de drapeau de la Lettonie.

I really love this EUROPA set, with a representation of this bird and a detail of the head, and map and flag of Latvia in the background.
