Le 4 avril 2019, la Deutsche Post a mis en circulation 2 nouveaux timbres se-tenant faisant partie de la série "Plus beaux panoramas d'Allemagne", consacrés cette fois à une splendide vue sur la petite ville de Rothenburg ob der Tauber, réputée pour la beauté de ses monuments et l'un des hauts-lieux du tourisme en Allemagne.
Conçus à nouveau par Stefan Klein & Olaf Neumann, ces 2 timbres (0,45€ chacun) figurent sur le joli pli Premier Jour ci-dessous, avec TAD de Rothenburg ob der Tauber (D-91541). Merci beaucoup Jens !
A noter cette mention "Aktionstag" sur le TAD qui ne figure pas habituellement sur les TAD Premier Jour mis en circulation à Bonn ou Berlin...

On April 4, 2019, the Deutsche Post released two new se-tenant stamps from the series "Most Beautiful Panoramas of Germany", this time devoted to a splendid view of the small town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, well known for the beauty of its monuments and one of the top places of tourism in Germany.
Designed again by Stefan Klein & Olaf Neumann, these 2 stamps (€ 0.45 each) are present on the nice First Day cover below, with pictorial cancellations from Rothenburg ob der Tauber (D-91541). Thanks a lot Jens!
To note this mention "Aktionstag" on the postmarks which does not appear usually on the First Day cancellations put into circulation in Bonn or Berlin ...
These two stamps show a spectacular view of the ramparts and the old town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, located in Middle Franconia (Land of Bavaria).
Rothenburg est devenue une ville à la fin du 12ème siècle et un centre de pouvoir important pour les princes de Hohenstaufen. Cependant, à partir du 15ème siècle, l’influence a fortement diminué, ce qui explique pourquoi le développement urbain a stagné.
Même après plusieurs guerres (dont la guerre de Trente Ans), les vieux bâtiments de le ville sont encore dans un état de conservation rare.
La ville conserve ainsi toute son enceinte fortifiée des 14èmes et 15èmes siècles et concentre un nombre impressionnant de bâtisses médiévales sur un site spectaculaire en bordure du Plönlein, représentant au mieux l'époque médiévale en Allemagne.
Une vue de ce Plönlein est représentée sur le TAD, avec la tour Sieber à gauche (datant de 1385), également visible sur le timbre, la tour Kobolzeller à droite et une fontaine devant une maison à colombages au centre.
Rothenburg ob der Tauber est une étape culturelle et historique importante sur la populaire "Route romantique" (350 km principalement en Bavière), la plus ancienne route de vacances en Allemagne, créée dans les années 1950.
Rothenburg became a city in the late 12th century and an important power center for the princes of Hohenstaufen. However, from the 15th century, the influence has greatly diminished, which explains why urban development has stagnated.
Even after several wars (including the Thirty Years War), the old buildings of the city are still in a rare state of preservation.
The city has still all its fortified walls dating from the 14th and 15th centuries and concentrates an impressive number of medieval buildings on a spectacular site on the edge of the Plönlein, representing the best medieval times in Germany.
A view of this Plönlein is featured on the cancellation, with the Sieber tower on the left (dating from 1385), also visible on the stamp, the Kobolzeller tower on the right and a fountain in front of a half-timbered house in the center.
Rothenburg ob der Tauber is an important cultural and historical stop on the popular "Romantic Road" (350 km mainly in Bavaria), the oldest holiday route in Germany, created in the 1950s.
