L'URSS a été un des 51 pays fondateurs de l'Organisation des Nations Unies en 1945 suite à la ratification de la Charte des Nations Unies à San Francisco le le 24 octobre 1945.
L'URSS puis la Fédération de Russie (depuis janvier 1992) est un des 5 membres permanents du Conseil de Sécurité des Nations Unies, avec la France, le Royaume-Uni, les USA et la Chine.
Le 22 mai 2020, la poste russe a mis en circulation un timbre (48 roubles) consacré au 75ème anniversaire de la création des Nations Unies.
Ce timbre autocollant, conçu par A. Povarihin et imprimé en feuillet de 8 timbres (tirage : 17000 feuillets), a été utilisé à droite sur cette lettre envoyée le 8 juillet 2020 depuis Saint-Pétersbourg. Merci beaucoup Youri !

On May 22, 2020, the Russian Post issued a stamp (48 rubles) dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the création of the United Nations.
This self-adhesive stamp, designed by A. Povarihin and printed in a sheetlet of 8 stamps (print run: 17,000 sheetlets), was used on the right on this cover sent on July 8, 2020 from Saint Petersburg. Thank you very much Youri!
Ce timbre représente le logo officiel de ce 75ème anniversaire (emblème des Nations Unies, mention "UN75", sans son slogan associé "Façonnons notre avenir ensemble"...) ainsi qu'une sculpture "Transformons les épées en charrues", offerte en 1959 par l'URSS, située dans le jardin nord du siège des Nations Unies à New York.
Cette sculpture en bronze créée par l'artiste Evgeny Vuchetich représente la figure d'un homme tenant un marteau en l'air dans une main et une épée dans l'autre, qu'il transforme en charrue, symbolisant le désir de l'homme de mettre fin à la guerre et de convertir les moyens de destruction en outils créatifs au profit de l'humanité...
Les 4 autres timbres autocollants ci-dessus (1 et 4 roubles) font partie de la 7ème série courante de la poste russe, émise à partir du 7 août 2019, représentant l'emblème (aigle bicéphale/cors postaux) des organisations du service postal fédéral de la Fédération de Russie.
